What- the Opportunity:
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new Manager, Financial Reporting. The new Manager will lead a global team of four (4) Accountants, all of whom will be direct reports into the Manager. This is a leadership role involving people management, coaching, overseeing and reviewing accounting work completed by the accountants, business operations, ad hoc process improvement projects, etc. Along with their Accountants, this Manager is responsible for a portfolio of ~12 entities (statutory accounts, joint ventures, etc.).
The Manager will also have two (2) peer Managers who each have their own formal/official direct reports, but the Accountants also spend some of their time supporting other Managers (and vice-versa), so there is a lot of team collaboration. The Accounting team consists of ~12 people in the Vancouver office (and many more in other countries), plus there are other colleagues in other areas of finance such as treasury and FP&A. Systems used include a cloud-based ERP, a consolidation tool, a financial reporting tool, and Excel.
There is usually overtime during a week or so of quarter-end and for a few weeks at the peak of year-end, but for the most part organized and hardworking Managers at this company can obtain better work/life balance than you’d see at most other global public companies or large public practice firms. Who- the Candidate:
At least 6 years and ideally 9+ years progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including public company reporting.
CPA accounting designation (or International equivalent) is required.
Excellent leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and training skills are crucial in this role. Candidates must have experience leading at least 2 direct reports, and ideally 4+ direct reports. Experience managing people or teams who live in another country is preferred.

How Much:
Base salary commensurate with work experience and skills, likely in the range of $100,000 to $125,000. How Much:
Very generous compensation total package commensurate with taxation skills, work experience, and qualifications- likely in the range of $140,000 to $176,000. There is opportunity for annual salary raises based on performance.
