Recruitment Consultant, working alongside many others on the successful Accounting & Finance, Administration, and Human Resources recruitment team. We work on entry-level roles right on up to executive-level roles, and short-term temp, long-term contract, and permanent positions. Swim’s most pressing need is for an experienced Recruiter who specializes in intermediate-to-senior level accounting & finance recruitment. Although we already have great candidate and client networks, there are still plenty of people and companies in this city and beyond that we could be working with! We are seeking an experienced, talented, and self-motivated Accounting & Finance Recruitment Consultant to join our close-knit and top-notch A&F recruitment team. This will be a permanent full-time role, in which you will be surrounded by some of the best and most experienced recruiters in Vancouver under the leadership of well-networked and knowledgeable Vancouver recruitment veterans. We will be reviewing every application on a case-by-case basis but preference will be given to those with prior experience in Accounting & Finance recruitment, with secondary preference for Human Resources and/or Administration recruitment.

Culturally, you will be the type of person who loves to have a laugh at the office and you do not take yourself too seriously.     • Experience working with public companies is highly preferred (ideally in-house with a public company, otherwise from public practice with public company clients)

The LAA will conduct, and also oversee, full cycle accounting for properties in the Lower Mainland and a few other markets.

    • Preparing and reviewing property financial statements, operating financial statements, and consolidated financial statements, and presenting these financial statements to the Controller and VP Finance (and potentially Board of Directors) for review; 
    • Updating and maintaining various general ledgers;
    • Managing intercompany cash balances;
    • Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and year-end audit, including working with auditors to resolve any discrepancies;  
    • Participating in annual budget and forecast preparation;

    Our client is seeking a new Corporate Accountant to join them for what will initially be a 6-month contract (opportunity for permanent employment in future).  The new Corp Acct will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, including preparing financial statements for the parent company and a couple subsidiaries, financial reporting (IFRS), general ledger reconciliation, AP (small volume under 30 invoices a month, mostly done by wire transfer), AR (again, low volume), cash management and currency exchange calculations (US-to-Cdn $$), forecasting & budgeting, payroll (20 people, automated system, fewer than 6 hours a month), commission accounting, tax filing for limited partnerships, monitoring operating expenses, etc. Additionally, the Accountant will help with ad hoc analysis and accounting tasks and projects, including process improvements. This position will be varied and will evolve in time- once the Accountant has ramped up on all the core responsibilities of the role, he or she can take on additional tasks in operational accounting, FP&A, etc.
