  • Experience with SEC filings and XBRL filings. 
  • Hands-on experience using a sophisticated ERP such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle, Netsuite, or SAP.

The Lead Commercial Accountant (LCA) will report into the Controller and will be responsible for managing, coaching, and leading two (2) to four (4) direct reports including two (2) property accountants. The LAA will conduct, and also oversee, full cycle accounting for properties in the Lower Mainland and a few other markets. 

    Responsibilities are diverse and will include:
    • Preparing and reviewing property financial statements, operating financial statements, and consolidated financial statements, and presenting these financial statements to the Controller and VP Finance (and potentially Board of Directors) for review; 
    • Updating and maintaining various general ledgers;
    • Managing intercompany cash balances;
    • Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and year-end audit, including working with auditors to resolve any discrepancies;  
    • Participating in annual budget and forecast preparation; 
    • Wide variety of other ad hoc accounting and finance analysis tasks as assigned, such as system optimization and process improvement.
