Well-rounded sales leadership role with a reputable and well-established company headquartered in Vancouver. This companys brand and products are loved by many across Canada and the US. Looking for a sales leader with 10+ years in B2B Sales in Retail and/or CPG sector.
 

Who- the Company:

This retail company is one of Canada’s most beloved brands in the pet sector (mostly products for dogs & cats) and they have hundreds of thousands of happy and loyal customers.  The company provides employees with a great place to work and a culture that encourages collaboration, creativity, respect, and honesty. They have built a culture that celebrates wins and takes pride in providing customers with high quality products.  
 

What- the Role:

Our client hiring for a new Director of Sales who will lead a sales team (mix of internal and external sales reps and account managers) and who will report into the CEO.
This role involves a diverse scope of responsibilities including setting sales goals, building annual sales strategy and SWOT analysis with the CEO, analyzing existing sales KPIs and putting in place new KPIs, ongoing optimization of sales systems and tools, resolving unique or escalated issues, providing training and onboarding, etc. The Director will collaborate closely with leaders of other departments including marketing, product design, customer service, distribution & supply chain, and finance.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a well-rounded B2B sales professional with at least 10 years of progressive and relevant work experience, including at least 4 years in a senior people management capacity. We are looking for people with fantastic sales skills, knowledge, and intuition who can lead by example. The new Director will inspire their team to join them in setting an exciting and more successful vision for the company’s future and figuring out together how a new sales strategy is going to help the organization get there! We are looking for animal lovers, ideally people who have their own very much-loved dog or cat!

  • Sales Experience:
    • B2B sales
    • Retail and/or CPG sector
    • Multi-channel sales- mix of brick & mortar and ecommerce, but brick & mortar is most important
    • Multi-national sales- experience selling to businesses/customers across Canada and the US
  • Team Leadership:
    • Experience leading a sales team of 2+ direct reports
    • Experience leading a mix of internal sales representatives (employees earning salary + bonus) and external sales representatives (freelancers earning only commission) is highly preferred
  • Company & Sector Experience
    • Selling for a company that manufactures their own product is highly preferred (as opposed to 3rd party or distribution)
    • Prior exposure to the pet sector is of course an asset, but it’s not required. Most important is a true love of animals, especially dogs!
    • Working in a variety of company structures is very beneficial (small and large, start-up and mature, private and public, etc.)
    • Experience reporting into a C-suite Executive and/or President and/or Company Founder is preferred

Where:

Headquartered in Greater Vancouver (outside of Vancouver). Ideally the new Director will work full time in-office... or perhaps 4 days/week in-office and 1 day/week from-home (please discuss your ideal schedule with SWIM).
The office environment is busy and upbeat, with employees working side-by-side in corporate functions and production functions.
Please note that the company has a very dog-friendly work environment. Bringing your furry companion to work with you every day is encouraged!
 

How Much:

On-target total annual earnings will be in the range of $150,000 to $200,000 (this represents total cash compensation, consisting of base salary plus bonuses). Base salary commensurate with sales leadership work experience, skills, and qualifications. Bonus upside will align with overall performance and sales goals achieved. What- The Role:

Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Representative to join their team. In this role, you'll focus on developing new customer relationships while maintaining and strengthening existing ones. You'll identify sales opportunities, promote the equipment they offer, and deliver exceptional customer service. Your main objective will be to drive revenue growth through strategic sales efforts and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with both current and potential clients.
  • Seek out and capitalize on new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, and lead generation.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Analyze customer needs and customize solutions to meet their business requirements.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and market developments to optimally position our products and services.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support overall company success.

 

Who- the Candidate: 

  • 5 years sales experience in a heavy equipment related industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and present technical or specialized products effectively.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with CRM software is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Must be available to travel up to 60 - 70% of the month.

 

How much:

$80K base + commission (earning potential up to $150K), vehicle allowance, RRSP match, extended health, vehicle allowance, 3 weeks vacation, professional development and growth opportunities.
 

Where:

Calgary, Edmonton or Fort McMurray, this is a fully remote role with 60-70% travel.
