Our client is seeking a new Corporate Accountant to join them for what will initially be a 6-month contract (opportunity for permanent employment in future).  The new Corp Acct will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, including preparing financial statements for the parent company and a couple subsidiaries, financial reporting (IFRS), general ledger reconciliation, AP (small volume under 30 invoices a month, mostly done by wire transfer), AR (again, low volume), cash management and currency exchange calculations (US-to-Cdn $$), forecasting & budgeting, payroll (20 people, automated system, fewer than 6 hours a month), commission accounting, tax filing for limited partnerships, monitoring operating expenses, etc. Additionally, the Accountant will help with ad hoc analysis and accounting tasks and projects, including process improvements. This position will be varied and will evolve in time- once the Accountant has ramped up on all the core responsibilities of the role, he or she can take on additional tasks in operational accounting, FP&A, etc. 

What- the Systems:

QuickBooks Online for accounting and Ceridian for payroll, plus plenty of Excel! 

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking top-notch accountants with strong technical skills who have at least 5 years relevant experience in full-cycle accounting. The more diverse your skillset, the better! CPA designation (or a legacy designation such as CPA, CGA) is highly preferred, otherwise active pursuit of CPA. Experience working in a fintech, corporate finance, or a private equity firm is beneficial, but not at all required- we’re just looking for people who will be excited to work in the fascinating, fast-paced finance industry. 

Where:
