Fantastic career opportunity with a global public company with operations in over a dozen countries. This is a diverse role that is great for someone who enjoys leading a highly complex payroll and benefits function. Our client is open to relocating a qualified individual from elsewhere in Canada and possibly from the US.

Who- the Company:

Swim Recruiting is thrilled to be engaged as the exclusive recruitment partner on this senior leadership payroll search. Our client is a highly successful and innovative international company headquartered in the lower mainland with over 20 years of history, approximately 1200 employees, and exciting projects on the go. The company has a fun-loving yet hard-working corporate culture with friendly and down to earth employees. If you are a proven payroll & benefits leader who is looking for a successful and exciting global company to work for, this could be the place for you!

What- the Role:

Our client seeking a new Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits who will lead the complex payroll and benefits function for close to 1200 employees across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. Reporting into the Senior HR Director, and directly managing a Senior Payroll Specialist. The company has outsourced some of their G&A functions, and the direct payroll processing is now being conducted by reputable and large 3rd party solutions provider. The new Senior Manager will be responsible for change management, ensuring the SLA quality metrics are met, troubleshooting, and generally managing the smooth and efficient functioning of an outsourced payroll. Given this, the Senior Manager is not directly taking care of hands-on payroll data-entry and processing. This role may involve very occasional international business travel in the future. Swim will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate:

We are looking for a seasoned payroll & benefits professional with over 10 years’ progressive experience. The ability to manage change and effectively oversee a complex and nuanced payroll is essential. Proficiency in both US and Canadian payroll is required (the more states and the more provinces, the better!), and experience managing payroll for employees residing in countries outside of North America is a significant asset. Experience managing a 3rd party service provider is a big plus. Experiencing managing a company’s benefits function is also crucial. Where:

Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada is where this person’s direct boss and direct report are located, therefore Vancouver is the preferred residence of the new Senior Manager. That said, there may be opportunity to work out of the US at one of the US offices. Please discuss further with Swim.

Swim Recruiting is looking for a great new HR Manager for a well-established, reputable, and values-based company headquartered in Coquitlam, BC. This opportunity is a 7-month contract, and a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their HR career and who enjoys mentoring and leading direct reports.

    Who- the Company:

This company was founded many decades ago and has grown to become one of Vancouver’s most trusted and reputable businesses in their industry. The company has a values-based culture, supports and encourages the development of their employees, and has social events to promote camaraderie and internal communication. The company employs approx. 250 people across multiple locations.

    What- the Role:

Our client is looking for a new Manager of Human Resources to join their tightknit team. This will be an approximately 7-month contract to cover the time between two parental leaves (of the HR Manager and the HR Team Lead). The Manager of HR will report directly into the company’s President and will mentor, coach, and oversee the work of 2 HR Assistants (who take care of HR administration, recruitment, payroll processing, etc.). Areas of responsibility include employee relations, leading HR programs and policies, health & safety, employee development, training, performance coaching, compensation & benefits, overseeing payroll (and acting as back-up for payroll processing when necessary), workforce planning, and managing talent acquisition.

    Who- the Candidate:

We are looking for a well-rounded HR professional who has experience in most of the HR areas mentioned in the responsibilities- namely employee relations, health & safety, overseeing payroll, training, and employee development. Experience with an entrepreneurial mid-size company is preferred, as is experience supporting employees in multiple locations. We are ideally seeking candidates who have already been the top HR leader for an organization, but we are also open to individuals in HR middle management who are ready for a step up. A genuine commitment to the full length of this contract is required. Just as important as the HR experience and skills is a great fit with our client’s culture and values- Swim can give you more insight on that!

    Where:

Coquitlam, BC. A convenient driving commute from the tri-cities, of course, as well as Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Surrey, New Westminster, and Burnaby.

    How Much:

Base salary or hourly consulting rate commensurate with relevance of HR experience and skills- please discuss further with Swim.
