  • Familiar with standardized Project Management methodologies (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Scrum)
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at a time in a fast-paced environment and support a large portfolio including efforts led by others
  • Strong problem-solving skills which include logical structuring, critical thinking, and focus on details

  • Build and maintain robust analytical models and reporting pipelines to monitor inventory performance and track historical trends (eg. Total and DC inventory turns, units-per-carton density in reserve racking, SKU count, inventory availability, etc.).
  • Build scalable, self-serve dashboards in PowerBI that enable both high-level tracking and root cause diagnostics.

This opportunity:

Senior Facilities Technician to support the Facilities Team. The ideal candidate should have prior hands-on working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. This individual must be a self-starter with a keen interest in learning about facilities maintenance and building operations. This individual must work well both independently and in a team, environment being able to operate with a sense of urgency when issues arise, while being able to prioritize facility requests. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be energetic, hands on and be able to assist individuals at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate is an individual who is mechanically inclined, takes pride in his/her work, brings energy to his/her job, makes safety a priority and has a strong attention to detail. 

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Facilities who is a lovely manager that treats employees well in a professional, collaborative environment.

The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and industry experience. This role is an on-site position, requiring 5 days per week on-site at Burnaby location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and maintain building and laboratory operational mechanical infrastructure in line with company objectives and goals.  
  • Support the facilities and building maintenance support activities, including routine checks and hands-on maintenance on building HVAC, DDC control system, generators, pumps, compressors, boilers, chiller, house vacuum system, and basic plumbing.
  • Assist and resolve various Facilities Help requests from staff.
  • Assist Corporate activities, such as setting up/cleaning up for company events and meetings, setting up seating for new hiring, and help with recycling.
  • Assist in mechanical lab instrument site preparation activities and requirements.
  • Assist the team on Facilities upgrade projects and work closely with his/her supervisor and with external trades and contractors.
  • Keep operational areas clean and tidy.
  • Available for occasional after-hours call outs in the event of facility emergencies.
  • Act in accordance with Company policies, including, for example, the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Who - the Candidate:

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Hands on working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • At least 3-5 years facility maintenance experience is highly desirable.  
  • Power Engineer 5th Class certification would be an asset.
  • Safety oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 25 kilograms (i.e. 55 pounds) comfortably.
  • Excellent communication skills with others within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A self-starter with the ability to solve problems.
  • Flexible and has a willingness to learn and adapt to changing demands and goals.

How Much:

The base salary range for this role is $57,430 to $75,000 CAD preferably. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and other qualifications, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.

  • Manual creation and maintenance of our finished goods pos.
  • Execute pr and po changes.
  • Validate change details to ensure accuracy.

This role involves some data entry, someone with a data centric background will do great, retail domain experience is a nice to have.  There are a lot of data sets in excel, this role involves pulling the data from excel and a variety of other different systems and doing ad-hoc reports for the team.  Teamwork and clear communication are essential, along with razor sharp attention to detail in data.

  • Assists department execution of inventory flow activities through adjustment of system inventory parameters that impact replenishment and allocation of product.
  • Under guidance of planner, analyzes & executes DC to DC transfers, including data entry of quantities for system loading.
  • Supports team in updating a range of weekly reports and ad hoc business tasks. 
  • Leverages systems, tools, and data to optimize inventory investments by style-colour and size across store locations, distribution centers, and e-commerce channels. 
  • Supports in forecast validation, analysis/decision support under the direction of a manager or planner.

 

Who- the Candidate: 

  • College certificate or University degree is required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in merchandise planning, business, or data-analytic focus.
  • Good business acumen, articulate, detail oriented
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required. 
  • PowerBI experience 
  • Good time management and prioritization skills
  • Any inventory management / sourcing experience to understand retail math.
  • Ability to conduct independent analyses on inventory and sales trends.

  • Lead the Parts division’s operations, including sales, inventory, customer service, and vendor relationships.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans to support revenue growth and profitability.
  • Recruit, coach, and manage a team of six, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
  • Oversee inventory forecasting and procurement to ensure optimal stock levels and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Build strong relationships with HVAC contractors and customers to enhance loyalty and satisfaction.

Who- the Candidate: 

  • 7+ years of experience in parts management, operations, or sales - HVAC industry experience a MUST.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team development.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC parts, tools, and systems.
  • Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; HVAC certification a plus.
  • Confident communicator and problem-solver with strong customer focus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Business Central is an asset.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and hitting sales targets.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in the warehouse when needed.

How much:

$100,000-$120,000 + discretionary bonus, robust benefits package.
 

Where:

On behalf of our client, Swim Recruiting is seeking a new Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a key facility in Richmond, BC. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of waste processing, transfer, and disposal activities. The Operations Manager will lead a diverse team of supervisors, operators, and drivers, fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Team Leadership: Coaching, mentoring, and supporting employees to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  • Operational Oversight: Managing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing operational strategies, improving efficiency, and supporting sustainability initiatives.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Overseeing budgets, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Reporting & Communication: Preparing performance reports, sharing updates with leadership, and staying engaged with industry’s best practices.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking an experienced operational leader with:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in waste management, industrial landfills, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a safety-first environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and relevant industry safety certifications/tickets.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED required; post-secondary education an asset.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-change environment and is passionate about safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
 

Where:

Richmond, BC. On-site leadership is required due to the nature of the facility operations.
 

How Much:

Generous base salary in the range of $135,000 - $150,000 commensurate with relevant work experience, education & qualifications. The total compensation includes a company vehicle, short-term incentive plan, health & dental benefits, and some great industry-based perks.
