Fantastic senior management opportunity with a very well-known and loved Vancouver brand. Mix of external comms, internal comms, media relations, earned media, and public relations. Leading, mentoring, and coaching a small and talented communications team of senior-level individual contributors. Working in a fun-loving, high-performance, supportive, and humble corporate culture.

Who- the Company:

Our client is an admired and award-winning Vancouver-based company with a positive brand and reputation. This is not a company that exists purely to make shareholders richer! This valued-based and socially responsible company makes a profit that they invest back in the business, as well as into their employees and into the communities they operate within. Many people have worked with this company for a very long time due to the company’s values, the stability of the organization, the better-than-average work/life balance, and the opportunities for new learning and steady career growth over the years.

What- the Opportunity:

Senior Manager, Communications. On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a well-rounded and enthusiastic Senior Manager who will lead communications (internal and external) across the organization. The new Senior Manager will oversee a talented team of communication experts, with an emphasis on enhancing external communications and building effective media partnerships, as well as PR and earned media strategies.

Additionally, the Sr Mgr will play a key role in guiding advocacy initiatives to represent the interests of the organization as well as their customers and their surrounding communities. This role offers a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a strong Canadian brand. Rest assured this will be a fulfilling role where you can really feel you are adding value through crafting compelling communications and keeping the brand fresh and recognized.  The Senior Manager can also act as a Spokesperson for the organization, if that is a role they enjoy and are confident taking on.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking candidates with exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences while reflecting a unique and vibrant culture. Qualified folks for this role will excel in coaching, team building, and prioritizing tasks, and will deliver outstanding experiences for both internal and external stakeholders while collaborating effectively with colleagues, media, and partners. The new Senior Communications Manager will know how to measure and share the success of communications to drive continuous improvement. Suitable candidates will have 7+ years of progressive experience, including at least a few years in a direct people management capacity. Senior and hands-on experience with both external and internal comms is required. Experience in PR is required, with proven examples of earned media. Strong desire to become a Company Spokesperson/Media Ambassador in future is preferred but NOT required if the Senior Manager prefers not to.

Where:

Greater Vancouver (not in downtown Vancouver). Hybrid work schedule- after training and onboarding, the Senior Manager can start to work from home 2 days a week.  This company has a collaborative and friendly office environment and provides excellent employee amenities, including a fully equipped gym available free of charge for employees. Additional perks include bike lockers, EV charging, and free employe parking.

How Much:

The base salary for this role ranges from $120,000 to $145,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, education, and skills.  The company provides a very good performance-based bonus structure that can bring total cash compensation into the $160,000s. Benefits include professional development support, customizable health benefits, a solid RRSP employer contribution, and a generous amount of paid time off.

We are looking for a Senior Manager with a strong work ethic and lots of accountability, of course, but this company promotes very healthy work/life integration for their employees!
