Accountant (6 month contract)

What- the Role:

As Accountant, you’ll be a key member of the Corporate Finance team, reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting. This role focuses on financial reporting and accounting processes and is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general banking support, including:
    • Bank reconciliations.
    • Cash forecasting for the corporate office.
    • Preparation of wire, cheque, and EFT payments.
    • Accounting for cash transactions.
  • Perform month-end closings for multiple legal entities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of:
    • Financial statements and notes
    • MD&A and audit reports
  • Prepare monthly foreign exchange rates.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual public filings (IFRS).
  • Support internal audits and ESTMA reporting.
  • Respond to external auditor requests.
  • Assist in budget and forecast processes.
  • Participate in systems implementation projects.
  • Provide administrative support (calendar, travel, meetings).
  • Take on ad hoc assignments as needed.

 

Who- the Candidate:

We’re seeking an adaptable, detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong foundation in financial reporting and month-end processes.

Qualifications:
 

  • Completion of post-secondary education with coursework in Finance or Accounting.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SAP experience is an asset.
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills and a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Professional discretion and sound judgment, particularly in a public company setting.

 

How Much:

Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience in the range of $36 - $41/hr (+ 4% vacation pay).
 

Where:

This is a full-time, onsite role based at the client’s corporate head office in Vancouver, BC, easily accessible by public transit.
