Accountant (6 month contract)

Who- the Company:

What- the Role:
As Accountant, you’ll be a key member of the Corporate Finance team, reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting. This role focuses on financial reporting and accounting processes and is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general banking support, including:
- Bank reconciliations.
- Cash forecasting for the corporate office.
- Preparation of wire, cheque, and EFT payments.
- Accounting for cash transactions.
- Perform month-end closings for multiple legal entities
- Assist in the preparation and review of:
- Financial statements and notes
- MD&A and audit reports
- Prepare monthly foreign exchange rates.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual public filings (IFRS).
- Support internal audits and ESTMA reporting.
- Respond to external auditor requests.
- Assist in budget and forecast processes.
- Participate in systems implementation projects.
- Provide administrative support (calendar, travel, meetings).
- Take on ad hoc assignments as needed.
Who- the Candidate:
We’re seeking an adaptable, detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong foundation in financial reporting and month-end processes.
Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education with coursework in Finance or Accounting.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- SAP experience is an asset.
- Self-starter with strong time management skills and a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Professional discretion and sound judgment, particularly in a public company setting.
How Much:
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience in the range of $36 – $41/hr (+ 4% vacation pay).
Where:
This is a full-time, onsite role based at the client’s corporate head office in Vancouver, BC, easily accessible by public transit.
