What - the Role:
Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Director of Communications, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting both the Communications and Marketing Department.
Main responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement schedules for various e-newsletters for internal employees, external stakeholders, and Express program customers. This includes curating topics, writing, editing, and publishing newsletters.
- Create, write, edit, and proofread engaging content for various platforms including social media, websites, internal and external newsletters, and blogs.
- Compile and distribute media releases and kits, ensuring they are tailored to the target audience. Support organizing photo opportunities related to media releases to enhance media coverage and engagement.
- Strategically coordinate and execute annual marketing plans, specific initiatives, and programs. Take ownership of projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals and delivering impactful results with a high level of autonomy
- Manage internal content updates and optimize website content for SEO to improve search rankings and drive traffic.
- Act as the primary liaison between advertising agencies, print suppliers, freelance talent, and various marketing services.
- Manage the procurement of promotional and depot merchandise, track inventory, and oversee the Online Supply Store. Optimize supply outlets and reporting processes to ensure they meet organizational needs. Prepare and coordinate shipments of promotional merchandise for marketing initiatives and internal use.
- Track budgets and assist in financial forecasting for marketing and communications projects.
- Plan meetings and other events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists.
- Approve the use of logos and company-branded materials, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms and communications. Follow existing brand guidelines and update them as needed to maintain a cohesive and professional brand image.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for the Marketing and Communications department, including taking meeting minutes, scheduling meetings, and following up on action items.
Who - the Candidate:
We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 2+years of relevant experience. You must be proactive, detailed-oriented and organized. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are very important for this role, including copywriting and proofreading (writing sample required).
- Relevant post-secondary education, ideally in Communications or Marketing from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Multi-tasking and Time Management: Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
- Web Content Management: Experience with web content management, editing, and administration (WordPress or similar).
- SEO and SEM: Experience utilizing Google Search Console and Google Ad Manager for monitoring website performance and optimizing search rankings.
- Marketing Knowledge: Solid understanding of marketing principles and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and Proactive: A proactive and team-oriented work approach with a keen attention to detail.
- Budget Management: Experience in budget tracking and financial forecasting for marketing and communications projects.
Where:
Hybrid work model until otherwise specified. Office is located in Burnaby, about 15 minutes’ walk from the Skytrain station.
How Much:
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and skills – likely in the range of $60,000 to $65,000. This company provides and excellent total compensation package including 3 weeks of paid time of, RRSP match, great health benefits, public transit reimbursement and fitness allowance.
