Fantastic career opportunity with a very well-established company whose highly technical systems and solutions are used around the world. This is a great career opportunity for someone who wants to work for a complex and interesting global company headquartered in Vancouver. Candidates must have at least 4 years progressive full-cycle recruitment experience, in agency and/or in-house. Strong preference for experience headhunting for various engineering and technical skillsets. Amazing Perk- Fridays OFF!
Who- the Company:

Our client is a highly successful and innovative company headquartered in the lower mainland with over 40 years of history and a well-established global reputation. The company is very reputable, well-managed, and successful, and there have been no lay-offs conducted in well over 8 years- this is a great place to work if you are looking for job stability in these uncertain times.  If you are a well-rounded senior-level talent acquisition professional with 6+ years relevant experience who is looking for a successful and exciting global company to work for, this could be the place for you!

This company has a very rare and attractive work schedule- employees can choose to work 10 hours a day/4 days a week, and take Fridays off! Or they can choose to work a regular 8 hour day 5 days/week. Most employees choose to partake in the unique 4-day work week program.

What- the Role:

Our client seeking a new Talent Acquisition Team Lead to join their tight-knit Human Resources & Talent Acquisition team. The company is also open to hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist who has future potential to grow into a Team Lead capacity (7+ years including people management experience for Team Lead level, or 5+ years experience for TA Specialist level)

The TA Team Lead will have 1 direct report and possibly a 2nd in future. They will work alongside HRBPs (who help support some of the TA needs), L&D Specialists, etc. The req load is fairly consistent year-round- currently at 20-30, with most of the positions based in Canada, but there are also International searches for the company’s operations in various other countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania. Much of the open headcount is “repeatable”, ie the same role for the same or different markets.

This is a full cycle recruitment role including sourcing, headhunting, screening, interviewing, background & reference checks, making & negotiating offers, etc. Many of the open searches are in engineering, including systems engineers, mechanical engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, project engineers, electrical engineers, etc. Some are roles requiring rare skillsets where candidates need to be sought from all over for relocation, not just candidates already living in the city where the role is based.  The TA Team Lead will lead all corporate recruitment for the HQ (accounting & finance, legal, administration, HR, IT, etc.)

The TA Team Lead will collaborate closely with hiring managers and will also have communication with the executive team (including scheduled meetings with executives to update them on the company’s talent acquisition pipeline, as well as TA-related opportunities and challenges).

In addition to hands-on full-cycle recruitment, the TA Team Lead will also work on TA process improvements, various TA-related projects, and employment branding (10% to 25% of the role, depending on time of year and how many searches are on the go).

To be considered for Talent Acquisition Lead level/title, candidates must have at least 7 years’ of progressive recruitment experience (including at least a few years in-house, not all agency-based) and must have strategically managed a TA function (TA projects, employment branding, tracking TA metrics, process improvements, ATS optimization, recruitment vendor negotiations, etc.)

The company is also open to hiring someone with under 5 years of relevant experience and not much TA strategy or supervisory experience, and this would be at Talent Acquisition Specialist level/title- with opporutinty to earn a future promotion to TA Team Lead based on performance and results.

SWIM will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking candidates with at least 4 years’ experience in full-cycle recruitment, and preferably 6+ years. Experience from both agency and in-house recruitment is preferred. Qualified candidates will have excellent sourcing and headhunting skills, including experience recruiting for high demand and/or rare technical professionals in engineering and technology. International recruitment is an asset. Experience optimizing the use of an HRIS or ATS is significant asset (user testing, customization, adding new modules, etc.). Relevant post-secondary education is highly preferred.

How Much:

Competitive base salary commensurate with level of talent acquisition skills and experience, in the range of $90,000 to $120,000 (depends on years of recruitment experience and whether the person is TA Specialist or TA Team Lead level). Additionally, the TA Team Lead/Specialist will be eligible for health & dental benefits, paid vacation, PD support, and an RRSP matching program.

Where:

Full time in office. The company is headquartered in Greater Vancouver. A huge perk of working for this company is that employees can choose to work a regular 8 hour day 5 days a week (and work from home on Fridays) OR work 10 hours a day for 4 days a week and take every Friday off work!

There is also an “in-between” option whereby the employee can work 9 hours a day and take every 2nd Friday off work. This is a very rare and valuable perk in North America!  Given this a global company, this allows the TA Team Lead to work a bit earlier or later than the average workday to cover interviewing candidates across different time zones, and then recoup that time by only working 4 days a week!

When & How to Apply:

This search is moving quickly and interviews kick off immediately. Swim Recruiting has been exclusively engaged on this search and will be presenting the profiles of short-listed candidates directly to the hiring team for review. Confidentiality of currently employed applicants will be highly respected.

If you already have a Recruiter at SWIM, please reach out to that person very soon. If you do not yet have a contact at Swim Recruiting, please hit 'APPLY’ to send us your resume. Thank you!
