What- the Role:
As Payroll Manager, you’ll oversee full-cycle payroll for ~250 employees across Canada (1 province) and the US (5 states), covering salary, hourly, commissioned, and equity-based pay. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing bi-weekly payroll (staggered between Canada and US).
- Managing T4, T2200, ROE, WCB, EHT, W-2, W-2C, ACA, Form 941/940, RRSP & 401(k).
- Driving automation, process improvement, and governance.
- Partnering with HR and Finance on audits and reporting.
Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking candidates with 8+ years of progressive work experience specializing in Canadian and US payroll. Qualified candidates will be people who love to improve payroll processes. We are looking for people who are excited about working in a high change, ambitious, and growing company.
- 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 2+ years leading a team.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll and employment legislation (BC, TX, NY, CA).
- Experience leading payroll system implementations or migrations.
- HRIS experience and integration expertise.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging employees at all levels.
- CPM/CPP designation (or equivalent).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Where:
The role can be performed fully remotely from anywhere in Canada. For those located in the Lower Mainland, there is also the option to work out of the corporate office in downtown Vancouver, which is conveniently accessible by public transit and close to many amenities and shops. A hybrid work model is available - 3 days a week in the office and 2 days from home. The Payroll Manager must have some flexibility in their work hours to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with colleagues across various time zones.
How Much:
This company offers a highly competitive total compensation package! Base salary commensurate with level of skills, experience, and education, likely in the range of $120,000-$130,000. The overall compensation package includes an annual performance-based bonus, an attractive long-term incentive plan with a reasonable vesting timeline, professional development support for PCP or CPM and health benefits.
