Fantastic senior-level tax opportunity for a CPA-designated professional with excellent Canadian and US taxation and transfer pricing skills to join a very successful, well-managed, and well-established Vancouver-based company in a unique and exciting industry. Global operations. High growth.

Who- the Company:

Our client has an over 40-year history of creating wildly successful products that are sold around the world. They have values that promote teamwork, trust, and sincerity. The company has over 250 employees working in several countries and is continuing to grow! Multiple entities, diversified operations, very complex and interesting business.

What- the Role:

Due to continued business growth and new product launches, our client is in need of a new senior-level resource on their tax team. The new Senior Tax Manager (permanent, full-time) will be responsible for a well-rounded portfolio including US tax, Canadian tax, transfer pricing, tax planning & tax strategy, tax compliance & tax returns (both direct & indirect tax), and supporting M&A work from a tax perspective. This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and who is eager to learn new taxation skills with a successful, entrepreneurial, and very high-growth company.
The tax team at this company is very organized and well-managed. Because of this, there is not a great deal of overtime expected in this position for someone who is productive and efficient- some at year-end and at tax filing time, of course, but for the most part the Senior Tax Manager can achieve better work/life balance in this role than they can in public practice firms or with public companies. SWIM will provide qualified and interested candidates with a detailed job description.

Who- the Candidate:

We are looking for a tax professional who is a team player and who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks depending on departmental needs.

  • Qualified candidates will have at least 7 years of relevant and progressive taxation work experience, with at least some of those years in industry.
  • Deep expertise in multi-provincial Canadian taxation and multi-state US taxation is required.
  • Transfer pricing experience is required.
  • CPA designation is required and completion of all levels of the In-Depth Tax program is highly preferred.
  • Experience using an ERP and proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Qualified candidates for this role will be both hands-on and strategic, and able to keep an eye on the details while keeping in mind the big picture.
  • Excellent communication skills and relationship building abilities are crucial in this role.

How Much:

This company provides a very generous total compensation package including a performance-based bonus, an RRSP match, a generous deferred profit-sharing program, and a customizable health benefits plan.
The base salary will be commensurate with experience- for now the range is likely $120,000 to $150,000, with the top end reserved for candidates with a very relevant 8 to 10 years of experience. If you are more senior than this (10+ years robust International Tax and Transfer Pricing experience) and seeking over $150,000 base salary, please still apply as there is a small possibility of this role being upgraded.

Where:

Based in the company’s beautiful Vancouver head office- accessible by car, bike, walking, bus, and SkyTrain. After training and onboarding, the Sr Tax Mgr can choose to work from home a couple days a week.
