Who- the Company:
Exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Vancouver based leading outsourced accounting and finance team supporting high growth companies. They are a people-centric organization and known for their collaborative team culture and rewarding environment. Hybrid work model of Tues-Wed-Thurs onsite.
What- the Role:
- Oversight, management and development of staff accountants and related work flows.
- Interacting with/supporting the CFOs and/or CEOs of client companies.
- Working with/supporting senior management with a view to stepping into managing client files directly and taking on client relationships directly.
- Oversight of General Ledgers and underlying accounting transactions.
- Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Preparation of quarterly and annual MD&As.
- Preparation and/or review of working papers supporting financial statements and MD&As.
- Managing other regulatory reporting.
- Assisting with AGM reporting materials.
- Preparing board and/or other governance committee reporting packages.
- Managing the audit/review processes with external auditors.
- Liaising with external tax advisors.
- Preparation and/or review of taxation filings forms.
- Assisting with development and roll-out of Company templates.
- Assisting with roll-out of Company strategic plans.
- Assisting with other ad-hoc requests; and
- Perform other accounting, client related and/or administrative tasks as needed.
Who – the Candidate:
- CPA designation (or equivalent), with at least 3 years post-designation experience and a total of 7+ years working in an accounting/finance department or CPA firm.
- Extensive experience working with public companies, including IFRS accounting and understanding public company reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in drafting and/or auditing financial statements and notes, as well as preparing and reviewing supporting working papers.
- Experience managing staff, working in teams, and reporting to CFOs and/or senior management.
- Strong experience liaising with boards of directors, auditors, and senior executives.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent English proficiency.
- Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong IT proficiency, with experience working in a digital environment and with various accounting platforms/systems.
- Experience in or exposure to the mining/exploration industry is a strong asset.
- Permanent Residency or Canadian Citizenship required.
How Much:
$100-120K commensurate with level of work experience, bonus, extended health, PD dues, 3 weeks vacation.
