Accountant
Great opportunity for an Accountant available immediately to join a very successful and well-established international company in an exciting industry.
This is a 6-week contract to fill in for someone currently on leave, possible extension.

What- the Role:
The Accountant is responsible for overseeing complete journal entries and general accounting-related tasks for the month-end close activities for our client.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions such as, but not limited to reporting, account coding and reviewing payables, and calculations for entries.
- Review and post AP batch transactions, manage cash balances and process bank payments.
- Prepare and enter journal entries including system downloads into the accounting system to meet month-end accounting requirements.
- Provide month-end reconciliations to the GL and prepare weekly and/or monthly reports and statements.
- Assist with global reporting requirements and support on internal & external audits.
- Positively drive agreed initiatives, propose new initiatives and adopt a sense of continuous improvement.
Who- the Candidate:
- A degree in Finance or Accounting and preferably enrolled in obtaining your CPA designation.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry.
- Experience with Oracle and Maximo systems are an asset.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines.
- Exceptional computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
- A willingness to take initiative to solve problems and a desire to identify process improvements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clear and concise information with all departments and levels in an accurate and informative manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with your team and other departments.
How Much:
$34.50 - $35.50 + 4% vacation pay.
Where:
Burnaby, 5 days’ onsite, along Skytrain line.
