Very diverse role involving office management, administration, payroll processing, accounting & bookkeeping oversight, people management (4 direct reports), basic HR (such as employee onboarding), and liaising with external IT consultants.  Looking for someone adaptable, efficient, and organized, with a well-rounded skillset.

What- the Role:

Our client seeking a new Manager, Office Operations.  This new Manager will handle the day-to-day office administration, human resources, payroll processing, and IT/systems required for smooth and efficient operations of the organization. The Manager will also oversee the accounting & day-to-day bookkeeping being conducted by an Assistant Manager on their team.  Supporting various teams and reporting into a Board.  Overseeing, leading, and mentoring four (4) direct reports in administration, reception, and other functions. SWIM will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate:

  • We are looking for an individual with at least 7 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a similar multi-faceted management role with a mid-size professional services firm.
  • Must have direct office management and office operations work experience, plus understanding of HR, IT, and bookkeeping (banking, journal entries, AP, AR, liaising with external accountants at year-end, etc.).
  • Relevant post-secondary experience is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll processing is highly preferred.
  • Strong with computers, particularly Excel, and experience using Sage 300 is an asset.
  • Must have experience leading direct reports and generally managing office operations.
  • Familiarity with overseeing external consultants in IT and HR is preferred, as well as managing other vendors and partners (property management firm, insurance companies, banks, etc.).
  • Candidates will have a friendly, clear, and professional communication style.

How Much:

Our client believes in a healthy work life balance and offers generous health and dental and vacation benefits.
Competitive base salary commensurate with level of skills, experience, and education, likely in the range of $80,000 to $100,000. Plus a variable performance-based bonus. Please discuss your total compensation expectations in more detail with SWIM.    

Where:

This is a full-time permanent role with regular work hours. The preference is for the new Manager to be full-time in office at the start, for training, onboarding, and relationship building. Longer-term there is hybrid flexibility, so the Manager can work-from-home on occasion. The company is headquartered in a skyscraper in downtown Vancouver, very transit accessible.
