Our client is seeking a well-rounded Legal Agreements Coordinator who will play critical role within a dynamic and reputable organization known for its support of cutting-edge health research. Strong communication, organization, detail-orientation, and relationship-building skills are essential.

Who- the Companies:

This well-established organization is widely respected for funding and advancing world-class health research. With significant, long-term funding secured, the organization is poised for exciting growth, with plans to hire additional team members and expand its impact across Canada in 2025. This is a workplace you can feel proud to contribute to, knowing that you’re supporting vital advancements in healthcare and scientific research.

What- the Role:

Our client is currently hiring for a Legal Agreements Coordinator, Grants & Funding to help achieve their mission of advancing critical healthcare research for all Canadians. This is a newly created role, and the new Coordinator will play a key role on the corporate team. Reporting into the CFO (a wonderful leader!), the Coordinator will liaise with various partner institutions (universities, hospitals, science labs) to process the review and signing of legal agreements pertaining to research funding and research grants. The Coordinator will customize (from a template) the agreements and then negotiate on legal terms (or explain why terms cannot be adjusted), answer questions, make approved changes, determine timelines, and follow-up to ensure timely agreement reviews, approvals, and signatures. This role requires fantastic organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the confidence to follow-up with external partners to ensure they have all they need to be able to sign off on the agreements.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking candidates with at least 3 years and ideally 4+ years of relevant work experience, including direct experience with legal agreements, ideally pertaining to research grants and funding. Work experience in the healthcare sector (especially healthcare research!) is a big plus, but not required for someone who is passionate about the organization’s vision and keen to learn quickly. Qualified candidates will have strong systems skills (MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).

Where:

Based in Vancouver. More days a week in office at the start during training and relationship building, and after that likely 2 days/week in office and 3 days/week from home (with occasional flexibility to work only 1 day/week from office, if needed).

How Much:

Base salary commensurate with experience and skills- in the range of $52,000 to $75,000, with the high end being reserved for candidates who meet all requirements and qualifications.  Additionally, this organization provides great health & dental benefits, 4 weeks paid vacation, and a solid pension plan. Please discuss your total compensation expectations in more detail with SWIM.

When & How to Apply:

Swim Recruiting is presenting shortlisted candidate profiles directly to the hiring team for review. There will be a 2 or 3-step interview process.  Please do not hesitate to apply if you are qualified, interested, and would like to discuss further! The confidentiality of currently employed candidates will be highly respected by SWIM and by our client. If you already have a Recruiter at SWIM, please reach out to them directly.
