Who- the Company:

Our client is a successful and well-established company that is a leader in their industry.  The company has a healthy P&L with a robust roadmap for growth and ambitious yet realistic growth plans over the next several years. Based in Surrey, BC.

What- the Role:

Swim Recruiting is looking for a new Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client. This will initially be a contract, starting ASAP and running until late summer (August or September). There will likely be a permanent role available at some point which the contractor can get top consideration for.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing full-cycle payroll for Canadian employees (mostly BC and a few other provinces). This includes some commission payroll. The Specialist will also manage the company’s expense system and ensure corporate expenses comply with internal policies. Other responsibilities include answering payroll questions from employees, working with HR on benefits administration, setting-up new hires in the payroll system, issuing ROEs and T4s, etc.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a payroll professional with at least 3 years of hands-on Canadian payroll experience. Experience managing a company’s expenses policies and processes is also important. PCP designation is highly preferred. Experience with sales commission is an asset. Any accounting experience/skills/training is very beneficial. Ability to optimize use of payroll systems (such as Ceridian, ADP, Workday, UKG, etc) as well as expense management software (such as Expensify, Soho, Concur, Ramp, etc).  Ability to commit to a full-time contract that has a chance of converting to permanent.

How Much:

For the contract, hourly rate of around $36 to $40 an hour, commensurate with experience level, plus 4% vacation pay. If or when this role becomes permanent, this company also provides employees with solid benefits plan, paid vacation, a bonus program, etc. Please discuss your compensation expectations in further detail with SWIM.
