Merch Ops Sample Coordinator

Support key merchandising operations that keep product moving through the go-to-market lifecycle – playing a hands-on role in ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.
No direct sample experience needed – this is a great opportunity for someone with merchandising operations experience (apparel preferred) to step into a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build on their skillset.
This is a contract through January 2027 with potential opportunity for extension. Hybrid working model of 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

What- the Role:

The Merchandising Operations team executes projects alongside Merchandising and Go-To-Market teams supporting transformative global product strategies that ensure our client has the right assortment in the right place at the right time to fulfill their guests’ unmet needs to deepen their guest relationships, grow their brand and deliver on their long-term enterprise goals.  Across our client, teams use sample garments to create brand assets and make informed business decisions. The Merchandising Operations teams makes this possible by managing critical steps of the sample process and supporting cross-functional team utilization of samples throughout the go-to-market lifecycle.

The Merch Ops Sample Coordinator, will coordinate the use and distribution of various sample types (including but not limited to GLF Merch & GLF Colour), including the daily and seasonal activities needed to maintain critical sample sets for key go-to-market milestones.
 

• Identify and socialize inbound GLF Sample timelines for physical apparel, accessories, and special products seasonally
• Liaise with Sample Operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of samples
• Support Sample Ops in receiving and distributing Colour Samples to the associated teams prior to key Go-To-Market milestones
• Lead GLF Merch sample receiving and handoff to Global & Regional Merch teams following key Go-To-Market milestones
• Monitor sample status to identify gaps to be solved
• Maintain GLF Samples active inventory database
• Manage sample utilization requests from cross-functional teams, lead sample consolidation/tracking/return in collaboration with Merch and requesting teams
• Support with additional Merch Ops and/or Sample Operations tasks as required

Who – the Candidate:

• Proactive mindset and passion for process improvement and problem-solving 
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Self-directed, timely, and reliable in planning and execution of responsibilities
• Extremely organized, takes high direction and able to manage time effectively
• Must be an effective team player who can work across departments and with multiple partners to achieve goals under tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment and has a willingness to learn
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and can quickly learn software systems such as Power Automate, Miro Board and AI Tools
• 2 years’ experience working for a vertical retailer, apparel experience preferred

How Much:

Hourly rate of $30-35/hr commensurate with experience + 4% vacation pay
