What- the Role:

SWIM has been exclusively engaged by our client as the recruitment partner on the search for a new Manager, Global Finance. This role is open due to a recent promotion.
The Manager is effectively the liaison, diplomat, and translator between Finance, IT, and the overall business (including Supply Chain). The Manager will work cross-functionally with leaders on teams around the world, and will spearhead process alignment and standardization for the entire company when it comes to global financial systems.   
The Manager will have 4+ direct reports, some of whom are based here in Vancouver, some of whom are based in other countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. 
This is a very well-rounded and dynamic position, and the Manager will be constantly tackling new, interesting, and challenging problems and projects pertaining to the organization’s global finance systems.
The Manager, Global Finance will lead a Financial Systems Committee (made up of various VPs and SVPs) that meets quarterly to review business needs and requests, budgets, project milestones, roadmaps, etc.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a business leader who embodies the following attributes: collaborative, strategic, resourceful, proactive, and adaptable.
This role entails a great deal of relationship building, global communication (virtual and in-person), process improvement, data quality assurance, negotiation, change management, and project management.

• Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years and more likely 15+ years of progressive and relevant work experience in large, complex companies.
• Candidates must have an accounting and/or finance background, so as to be able to understand the functional requirements coming from the global finance team.
• An accounting & finance designation (CPA, CFA, CMA, etc.) is required, or perhaps a relevant Master’s degree (MBA, Master’s of Finance, etc.). 
• Experience with a top-tier financial system ERP such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics Business Central, Workday Finance, etc.
• Experience in the industrial sector is required- for example, working for companies in mining, oil & gas, forestry, petrochemical, etc.
• Excellent leadership, mentorship, and coaching abilities, with experience leading at least 3 direct reports (preferably with a mix of local and global direct reports). 
• Global scope is preferred- ideally with exposure to business operations and corporate functions in the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Africa.
• Public company experience is beneficial.

How Much:

This company provides a very robust total compensation package. Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and skills, likely in the range of $140,000 to $170,000, with the high end reserved for candidates who have extremely relevant work experience, skills, and qualifications.  The sweet spot on base salary for this role is in the $150,000s. Please note that OTE will be well into the high $100,000s or even early low $200,000s, when you account for all the upside.

Where:

Downtown Vancouver. Hybrid. Close to rapid transit and many amenities like restaurants and shops. At least 2 days/week in office and usually 3 days/week in office. It’s highly preferred that the new Manager have more in-office presence in the first 6 months or so, while they establish new relationships and get to know the business.
