Financial Analyst
Do you have hands-on experience with commission processing, strong math skills, and a background in accounting or finance, along with advanced Excel abilities to generate reports and analyze financial data? Experience working with ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics) and the ability to support stakeholders and Project Managers with job costing, system processes, reporting, and tracking project performance would be highly valued.

This is a maternity leave contract through December 2026.

What- The Role:

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting project planning, execution, and delivery by providing data-driven insights, tracking project performance, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. This role is responsible for analyzing project metrics, identifying risks or inefficiencies, and assisting project managers in maintaining schedules, budgets, and scope. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a proactive mindset and a solid understanding of project management methodologies. They serve as a bridge between data and decision-making, ensuring projects are aligned with strategic objectives and executed effectively.

Job Closure and Review:

  • Oversee the timely and accurate closure of jobs within the system, ensuring all necessary steps have been completed and all details are properly documented.

  • Ensure all converted jobs are accurately set up in Business Central, verifying purchase orders and job details are properly aligned.

  • Conduct weekly reviews of active jobs to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure the timely completion of all tasks.

Training and Support:

  • Provide ongoing training and support to Project Managers on job conversion, setup, and closure processes, ensuring consistency and compliance with internal procedures.

  • Act as the main point of contact for Business Central users, addressing their inquiries and providing guidance on system processes and functionality.

Allocation:

  • Manage the weekly commission allocation process (CAT process), ensuring accurate distribution and tracking.

  • Manage foreign exchange (FX) purchases and their corresponding allocations, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting.

  • AR and Project-Related Reports:

  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly Accounts Receivable (AR) and project-related JET reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

  • Follow up on sales invoices and provide updates to the sales team.

  • Manage AR reports (aging reports, outstanding receivables, customer receipts).

  • Deposit cheques to the bank and ensure accurate recording.

  • Oversee credit checks for new and existing customers.

  • Posting credit memos making sure their accurate job application.

Payment Applications and CHQ Processing:

  • Oversee the processing of payment applications and cheque (CHQ) processing, ensuring all payments are made in accordance with contractual agreements.

Review of Financial Accuracy on Jobs:

  • Continuously monitor the financials of each job to ensure they are accurate and aligned with project goals, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.

Ad-Hoc Reports:

  • Generate and analyze ad-hoc reports as requested by management, providing insights and recommendations based on data.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

Who- the Candidate: 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Hands-on experience with commission processing (proficient level).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management.

  • Organizational and time management abilities.

  • Attention to detail and adaptability.

How much:

$31.25/hr to $36/hr + 4% vacation pay.

Where:

North Vancouver, BC, onsite 5 days’ week for the first 3 mo’s, then Fridays remote.
