What- the Opportunity:
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a well-rounded, confident, and enthusiastic Senior Financial Analyst who will conduct full-cycle FP&A for one of the company’s largest business units.
This role involves forecasting (long-range), budgeting, financial modeling, variance analysis, preparing materials for the ELT and the Board, giving presentations, etc.
The Sr FA will be analyzing: P&L, CAPEX, OPEX, headcount, labour costs, cash flow, projects, contracts, investment opportunities, risk, competition, etc.
At this company, Sr FAs do the heads-down and hands-on technical financial analysis AND also get to “tell the story” behind the numbers and bring their findings to life in cross-functional meetings by giving presentations.
Using a great deal of the financial system/ERP, Excel (indulging VBA) and Power BI, as well as a sophisticated FP&A software, Power Query, BI/AI/data visualization tools, etc.
Working on an FP&A team of around 12 people, including folks at Analyst, Senior Analyst, Manager, and Director level.
Acting as dedicated business partner to a very large and complex business unit, advising and supporting executive leaders in non-finance capacities.

Who- the Candidate:
We are looking for a Sr FA with at least 5 years of relevant and progressive work experience with large and complex companies (companies with at least $100M in revenues and preferably $500M+ in revenues).
- Education: Relevant post-secondary degree (business, finance, accounting, etc.) coupled with a CFA and/or CPA designation.
- Work experience: 5 to 15 years of relevant and progressive finance experience.
- Systems: Highly proficient in Excel, including financial modeling. Experience with PowerBI, PowerQuery, and FP&A tools (Tableau, OneStream, Adaptive Insights, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Leadership: Excellent mentorship abilities.
- Foundational accounting experience is required, perhaps starting career as an Accountant before pivoting into FP&A. At a minimum, candidates must truly understand P&L and debits & credits, and have an appreciation for the interaction between accounting and FP&A.
Where:
Greater Vancouver (not in downtown Vancouver). Hybrid work schedule- after training and onboarding, the Sr FA can start to work from home 2 days a week. How Much:
The base salary for this role ranges from $95,000 to around $112,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, education, and skills. The company provides a very good performance-based bonus structure that has a strong record of paying out at or above target for strong performers. Benefits include professional development support, customizable health benefits, a solid RRSP employer contribution, and a generous amount of paid time off.
We are looking for a Senior FA with a strong work ethic and lots of accountability, of course, but this company promotes very healthy work/life integration for their employees. Much better than most public companies and other private companies of similar size. There is even an overtime program whereby the Senior Analyst will be compensated for overtime worked during busy periods (budgeting season)- pay or time in lieu.
