Who- the Company:

Our client has many decades of history in British Columbia and has grown to become one of the largest privately-held companies based in Vancouver. The company is a very stable organization with diversified operations, multi-year billion-dollar contracts with significant clients, and a bright future. This company believes in the importance of health & safety for their employees and customers, corporate social responsibility, and diversity & inclusivity.

What- the Role:

Our client is seeking a new Senior Human Resources Business Partner for their growing team. The Sr HRBP will be joining an overall HR function of over 60 people. The Sr HRBP and an HRBP will be responsible for directly supporting a large group of unionized employees (almost entirely based in BC) who are members of a couple unions.
Afternoon Hours:
This Sr HRBP will work a later shift- typically starting at 11am or possibly 11:30am or 12pm. Great role for someone who functions at their best in the afternoons and evenings… and/or who is busy with family or personal commitments in the morning hours. Or maybe you just like skipping the morning and afternoon rush hours!
The Sr HRBP is responsible for performance management, workforce planning, leadership coaching, succession planning, employee relations and labour relations (including investigations), rolling out new HR programs and policies, etc.
This is a very well-rounded role, and the Sr HRBP will get to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and peers. The company has an HR Centre of Excellence model, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, and Learning & Development.
SWIM will provide interested and qualified candidates with a thorough job description.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking candidates with at least 8 years and preferably 10+ years progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years specializing in Canadian Labour Relations. Qualified candidates will have experience supporting large and diverse employee populations (mix of unionized employees and non-unionized management) and will be skilled at leadership coaching. We are looking for folks who have excellent knowledge of BC and Canadian employment law. An eye for process improvements and a solutions-oriented mindset are very important in this role.
A successful Sr HRBP at this company will be someone who embraces change, who approaches process improvements with a patient and collaborative attitude, and who loves contributing positively to a dynamic corporate culture.
Afternoon Shift: We are looking for someone who is excited about the unique opportunity of a Monday-to-Friday full-time employee job that has afternoon hours- senior HR roles with a schedule like this are quite uncommon in Vancouver!

Where:

Headquartered in Greater Vancouver (not in downtown Vancouver). 4 to 5 days a week on-site. Free on-site employee parking.

Base salary will be commensurate with years of labour relations and human resources work experience as well as relevant HR qualifications and education.  The range on the base salary is $110,000 to $125,000, with the top-end reserved for candidates who meet all sought-after qualifications and who have at least 10 years of relevant work experience.
