What- the Role:
We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant with 2-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience to join a privately owned company in the real estate sector with a significant investment portfolio. - Support daily accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform full-cycle accounting for the company and related entities.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and file GST returns and assist with T-slip filings.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, controls, and reporting deadlines.
- Assist with audit preparation and coordination with external accountants as needed.
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff.
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
- Review financial data for accuracy and consistency prior to submission.
- Support variance analysis and other ad hoc financial analyses as required.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting processes.
- Support the integration and maintenance of financial systems such as Certinia (FinancialForce) and Salesforce.
- Maintain organized and complete accounting documentation.
- Reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and working with the VP of Finance as needed.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned by the Senior Accounting Manager or VP of Finance.
Who – the Candidate:
- Must possess high discretion and always maintain confidentiality. Required to sign and comply with Non-Disclosure and confidentiality agreements (NDA).
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience at an intermediate level; public accounting experience is an asset.
- Experiences with multicurrency and/or multicompany transactions are preferred.
- Strong understanding of ASPE and general accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end cycles, GST filings, and T-slip preparation.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems (Certinia/FinancialForce and Salesforce experience an asset).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; able to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels.
How Much:
$60-65K + extended health after three months.
Where:
West Vancouver, BC, this role is onsite 5 days/week.
