What & Why:
Due to a temporary parental leave coverage, our client is seeking a Financial Data Analytics Engineer to take ownership of their financial analytics and reporting environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing production-grade BI models, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data flowing from source systems into the data warehouse, and supporting leadership with trusted financial reporting and analysis. You will work closely with finance and senior stakeholders to validate financial logic across core statements, forecasts, and revenue models, while ensuring data governance and access controls are properly maintained.
This is a high-impact contract role where you will play a critical part in supporting financial visibility, month-end close, and strategic decision-making through well-governed, automated analytics.

Who:

This client is a fintech organization that places a strong emphasis on financial accuracy, automation, and real-time insight. Finance, data, and leadership operate in close partnership, relying on live analytical models rather than spreadsheet-driven processes to inform decisions.
They value ownership, clear communication, and accountability, with analytics professionals viewed as core contributors to financial strategy rather than downstream report builders. The team prefers scalable, well-governed systems and maintains a low tolerance for manual workarounds or unclear reporting.

You:

You will bring the following education, skills, and experience to the role:
Hands-on experience owning and maintaining financial models in Sigma
Strong SQL capabilities, including the ability to write complex queries, joins, and window functions
Proficiency with Python for data analysis and transformation, particularly using pandas
A strong understanding of financial accounting principles, including revenue recognition and the relationship between the three core financial statements
3+  years of experience supporting forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, or financial reporting
Familiarity with SaaS or subscription-based metrics such as ARR, NRR, CAC, and LTV
Ability to validate financial logic and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Compensation:

This role pays $90–$100 per hour (incorporated) and is a 4-month contract.

If the sound of this opportunity excites you, and you’re confident that it’s a good fit for your experience and career goals, we’d love to hear from you! Please apply with your updated resume, and one of our awesome recruiters will be in touch.
