Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant opportunity working for a tech oriented top employer! This is a 4-5 month contract role that can is mostly remote but can go in office- they are quite flexible with a great culture!

This is a contract role so ideal is someone with relevant experience in public practice looking for that industry experience here in Vancouver with a great employer and team to learn from.

What- the Role:
As a Senior Accountant (4-5 month contract for now) you will be an integral member of a fast-paced accounting team. You will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and leading the month-end close process. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you’ll partner with the rest of the Accounting team and collaborate with other departments on projects such as internal and external reporting, system implementation, process improvement, and tax.
Key Responsibilities
Your goal will be to execute on the full accounting cycle. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:
- Oversee month-end processes and support with quarter-end processes, including annual reporting preparation.
- Complete account reconciliations, continuity schedules, and journal entries including expense accruals and stock-based compensation.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements (public company reporting, US sales and use tax, annual corporate tax, indirect tax).
- Assist in the audit and review processes with external auditors.
- Build procedures to create efficiencies, including system implementations and documenting internal control processes.
- Train and provide mentorship to other team members on accounting systems and processes.
Who- the Candidate:
- Has 4+ years of accounting experience including previous experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Has a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related degree, and holds a CPA designation or is in the process of obtaining the designation.
- Possesses advanced knowledge in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Shows a track record of critical thinking and problem-solving independently, including past experience implementing accounting improvements.
- Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business.
These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:
- Experience using Workday Financials.
- Previous experience working in SaaS.
Where:
Vancouver but flexible for remote and hybrid based on candidate preferences.
How Much:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience, ranging from $40 to 50 an hour plus 4% vacation pay.
