What- the Role:  

Our client is looking for a new Senior Accountant who can grow with the company over the years. This job is well-suited to someone who enjoys diversity in their day-to-day responsibilities. Working closely with the Asst Controller, Controller, CFO, Project Accountants, and others on the accounting & finance team.
Responsibilities include month/quarter/year-end close, cash management, corporate budgeting, financial reporting (ASPE), and business decision support through FP&A.

Who- the Candidate:

Swim Recruiting has been engaged to identify candidates who are well-qualified for the role and who are also a great match for our client’s collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture. Candidates will have at least 4 years of relevant and progressive corporate accounting experience, including a couple years in the vibrant real estate sector.
 

What- the Qualifications:

• Education & Credentials:
  • CPA designation (already achieved, or passed CFE and getting designation pending final work experience requirements).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Urban Land Economics or a related field is preferred.
• Work Experience:
  • Accounting experience gained either from a real estate company (development, property management, perhaps construction) AND/OR from public practice firm with real estate sector clients.
  • Understanding of the complex and fast-paced Vancouver sector, ideally with exposure to residential, commercial, and mixed-used projects as well as property management/income producing properties.
• Systems:
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (look-ups, matching, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience using a real estate financial system such as Sage 300 or Yardi is preferred.
  • Experience using PowerBI is a very beneficial.
• Soft Skills:
  • Open-minded, confident, and articulate communication style with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment where multiple tasks and projects are worked on simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, looking to thrive in a culture of excellence.

Where:  

Vancouver. The new Senior Accountant will work full-time in a very beautiful corporate office with an inviting work environment and plenty of space for collaboration and socializing. Located in a vibrant area of Vancouver with plenty of nearby amenities. The company has a performance-based culture that offers flexibility and work/life integration.  
 

How Much:

The company will provide their new Senior Accountant with a base salary in the range of $78,000 into early $90,000s, commensurate with accounting experience and skills, when CPA designation was achieved/will be achieved, and amount of time in real estate sector.
