What- the Role:

On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new Senior Accountant who will report directly into the Accounting Leader for the company. The Senior Accountant will have a variety of responsibilities within financial reporting (multi-entity, US GAAP, consolidations), month/quarter/year end close, financial process improvements, accounting related projects, financial system optimization, reviewing AP, etc. SWIM will provide interested candidates a full job description.
 

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking senior-level accountants who are CPA designated (or who are very actively pursuing CPA) with 4+ years of relevant full-cycle accounting work experience.   Qualified candidates will have experience in a large public practice accounting firm and/or industry (ideally both, but not required). The more well-rounded the accounting experience, the better! Within corporate accounting, operational accounting, financial reporting, financial systems, etc.
Experience in healthcare and/or technology (especially software as a service/SAAS) is highly preferred, but not required- as long as you are comfortable working with a sense of urgency in a very complex and fast-moving company. Experience with US GAAP and USD currency is a significant asset. Hands-on experience with an ERP is very highly preferred (Oracle, SAP, Netsuite, JD Edwards, etc.), especially if you were involved in the post-implementation customization, user adoption, and optimization phase.

How Much:

The range on base salary is very wide as it really depends on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience- $80,000 to $110,000, with as sweet spot of around $90,000. If candidates have many/all of the “highly preferred” pieces, that will help increase the salary. Plus bonus, benefits, paid time off, etc. Please discuss your total compensation expectations in more detail with SWIM.
 

Where:

Full time in Burnaby, close to a SkyTrain station. There is flexibility as needed in this role to allow for good “work life integration” (ie leaving work early for a medical appt, leaving early for a long weekend after working a lot of overtime at quarter-end the week before, etc.), but for the most part the expectation for this role is Mon-Fri in office.
