A fantastic, reputable, and empowering NPO (not for profit) organization is seeking a professional and empathetic Director, Fund Development and Communications to join their team. This is a strategic and dynamic role that will be responsible for managing all aspects of HR matters.
Who- the company:
Our client is a well-known and respected local NPO that has been serving the downtown community for many years. They provide basic need services, programs, and specialized support.

What- the role:
Our client is looking for a full-time, permanent Director, Fund Development and Communications who will be reporting directly to the Executive Director of the organization. This position will be responsible for the development, management, and oversight of DEWC’s fundraising, donor relations, funding applications and communications plan. Key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Provide leadership, training, and support to Fund Development and Communications staff.
  • Create and implement the organization’s development plan in line with strategic goals.
  • Develop and oversee all fundraising programs, events, and activities.
  • Support the Fundraising committee.
  • Manage donor relationships.
  • Oversee government and foundation fund development process including managing relationships, contracts, and reporting processes.
  • Represent the organization in networking events and speaking engagements.
  • Develop and oversee the communications strategy, including online/web presence.

Who- the candidate:
We are looking for an experienced, determined, resilient, empathetic, and diligent Fundraising and Communications professional. Qualifications listed below:

  • 5+ years relevant FUNDRAISING strategy and application experience, communications experience, and donor management experience.
  • Must have NPO industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proficiency in donor database software and digital communication tools.
  • 1+ year of people management/mentorship experience.

Where- the location:  
Our client is located in downtown Vancouver. This is a fully in-office position. This will be on a fortnight (reduced schedule). Every other week, this person will work 4 days a week (with Fridays off).

How much- the pay:
Commensurate with experience, the salary range for this role is between $97,000-$113,000 base salary. For other compensation details, please discuss further with SWIM.
