A fantastic, reputable, and empowering NPO (not for profit) organization is seeking a professional and empathetic Director, People and Culture to join their team. This is a strategic and dynamic role that will be responsible for managing all aspects of HR matters.
 

Who- the company:

Our client is a well-known and respected local NPO that has been serving the downtown community for many years. They provide basic need services, programs, and specialized support.

What- the role:

Our client is looking for a full-time, permanent Director, People and Cukture who will be reporting directly to the Executive Director of the organization. This position will be responsible for overseeing and leading all key aspects of HR, fostering an inclusive and positive work environment, and aligning the HR practices with the organization’s values and philosophy. Key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Provide leadership, training, and support to HR staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of programs centering around DEI, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and equity.
  • Develop and implement annual engagement plans and retention strategies.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and onboarding practices.
  • Work with managers/supervisors for employee relations, performance management, and continuous supervisory and coaching practices.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate policies and procedures and ensure that HR practices are fair and consistent and comply with relevant legislations.
  • Oversee and provide support in leave management.
  • Develop and support administering consistent and fair compensation programs.
  • Be a true strategic partner to the ED and leadership team.
  • Oversee all the department administration, including benefit programs and relationships with benefit providers.

Who- the candidate:

We are looking for an experienced, determined, resilient, empathetic, and diligent Human Resources professional. Qualifications listed below:

  • 7+ years relevant HR manager/generalist experience, preferably in a non-profit and/or unionized environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent years of experience in HR.
  • CPHR professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of employment standards, employment related systems, and acts and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work in a respectful, collaborative, and cooperative manner with co-workers, staff, and members.
  • First Aid certificate required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS, preferably ADP WorkForce Now.

Where- the location:  

Our client is located in downtown Vancouver. This is a fully in-office position. This will be on a fortnight (reduced schedule). Every other week, this person will work 4 days a week (with Fridays off).

How much- the pay:

Commensurate with experience, the salary range for this role is between $97,000-$113,000 base salary. For other compensation details, please discuss further with SWIM.
