This is a 2-month contract to start.

What- the Role:

The Customer & Operations Service Specialist is responsible in supporting the logistics division with customer service & operational support.

  • Organizing of transportation with strong focus on ocean and air freight
  • Create files, arrange for pickup and obtain shipment documentation necessary for domestic/international transportation, liaison between parties to provide status updates.
  • Follow appropriate work instructions or checklist to create consistency and minimize errors.
  • Enter shipment and bookings details into CargoWise 1 or other approved freight forwarding platforms in a timely and accurately, submit all required documentation from the system (i.e. Master, AES, ACI, EDI, booking confirmations, etc.) and create invoices
  • Use approved external providers as necessary to arrange transportation of goods. Quickly resolve any miscommunication and disputes to ensure safe on-time deliveries
  • Coordinate pricing and prepare quotations to customers for ocean and air shipments
  • Ensure safe transport execution in line with official requirements

 

Who- the Candidate:

  • A degree in business, logistics, or a similar field is preferred, combined with at least 2 years' experience in the freight forwarding industry, and ocean and road freight.
  • A certificate in CIFFA is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the CargoWise1 or other Freight Forwarding platform is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence with the ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships across all levels and functional areas of an organization and be a team player.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office applications combined with the proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate and informative manner to clients, vendors, carriers, and other forwarders.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills, with attention to detail so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle shipments from open to close. Must be able to handle the day-to-day operational activities and close out the file in accounting.

 

How Much:

$30-32.50/hr commensurate with experience + 4% vacation pay
 

Where:

Burnaby onsite, nice central location and skytrain accessible
