Join our client’s dynamic team and leverage your 2+ years in ocean and air freight forwarding, while utilizing your bilingual skills in French and English. Thrive in a collaborative environment with strong customer service focus, handling shipments end-to-end and navigating Canadian Import/Export regulations.
 

Who- the Company:

What- the Role:

  • Organizing of transportation with strong focus on ocean and air freight
  • Create files, arrange for pickup and obtain shipment documentation necessary for domestic/international transportation, liaison between parties to provide status updates.
  • Follow appropriate work instructions or checklist to create consistency and minimize errors.
  • Enter shipment and bookings details into CargoWise 1 or other approved freight forwarding platforms in a timely and accurately, submit all required documentation from the system (i.e. Master, AES, ACI, EDI, booking confirmations, etc.) and create invoices
  • Use approved external providers as necessary to arrange transportation of goods. Quickly resolve any miscommunication and disputes to ensure safe on-time deliveries
  • Coordinate pricing and prepare quotations to customers for ocean and air shipments
  • Ensure safe transport execution in line with official requirements

 

Who- the Candidate:

  • 2 plus years working within the freight forwarding industry with a strong focus on ocean and air freight
  • Successful candidate must have professional working proficiency speaking French and English
  • Graduate of an accredited freight forwarding program with strong day to day knowledge of the Freight Forwarding platforms
  • Understanding of Canadian Import/ Export regulations with a strong focus on IATA regulations
  • Strong customer service skills, proactivity and be a team player
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and experience in PC and MS Office applications
  • Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, and vendors
  • Handle shipments from open to close. Must be able to handle the day-to-day operational activities and close out the file in accounting
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.

 

How Much:

Base salary commensurate with level of experience in the range of $60-65K, bonus, a robust compensation package including extended health, 3 weeks vacation, RRSPs.
 

Where:

Brampton, ON. Working hours are 8am – 4:30pm ET, 4 days’ onsite, 1 remote working day
