What- the Role:

On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new Payroll Supervisor. The Payroll Supervisor will manage, lead, and mentor anywhere from 3 to 5 direct reports, including Payroll Specialists and Payroll Support Staff (mostly full-time employees, sometimes contractors). The Payroll Supervisor will report to the experienced Payroll Manager.
The Payroll Supervisor will ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of their payroll team, while also contributing to process improvements, payroll-related projects, and payroll system optimization. The payroll team uses an ERP-based payroll system, Excel, and various timekeeping systems.
 

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking candidates with at least 5 years’ progressive experience in payroll. Qualified candidates will have experience leading payroll teams of at least 2 people, and ideally 4+. Must have experience processing and leading large and complex payrolls (i.e. multiple payrolls, over 1000 employees, mix of hourly/salary and FTE/casual, preferably a mix of unionized/non-unionized).
PCP and/or CPM certifications are highly preferred, but not required. We are looking for payroll professionals who are natural mentors, and who can coach their team through positive change. Candidates must be strong with systems, and eager to seek out process improvements and new opportunities for automation.
 

Where:

Headquartered in Greater Vancouver (not in downtown Vancouver). Hybrid work schedule- please discuss further with SWIM.
 

How Much:

The Payroll Supervisor’s base salary will be commensurate with their number of years of payroll work experience, their team leadership work experience, relevant qualifications/education, and the depth and breadth of their technical payroll skills.  For now, the range on the base salary is around $90,000 to $120,000- please note the high end of this salary range is reserved for candidates who have ALL of the sought-after qualifications and work experience.
Additionally, the Payroll Supervisor will be eligible for a performance-based bonus, a pension matching plan, excellent health, dental & vision benefits, and health & wellness perks such as paid gym memberships.
