What- the Opportunity:
This firm has been growing year over year since inception, and the time has come to hire a new Recruitment Consultant for the Toronto office. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a driven recruiter who wants to continue to build their own brand in the Toronto market and who enjoys fulfilling and rewarding recruitment within professional services. The new RC will typically run with 6 to 8 searches at a time. The minimum fee size is $30,000, and the Recruitment Consultant would take part in half of the production (on most of the retained searches) or the entire production (when “specing out” and successfully placing a candidate). Most searches this new RC will be involved in will be based in the GTA, but they may also support the occasional search elsewhere in Canada.
Any agency recruiter will understand the meat and potatoes of this role- full cycle recruitment including sourcing, headhunting, posting jobs, creating compelling and clearly written candidate profiles, ATS documentation, client communication, salary negotiation, etc. What makes this opportunity special are: the firm’s incredible reputation in the market, the opportunity for year-over-year career growth in terms of learning and commission-earning potential, the tight-knit team of amazing people to work with and have fun with, and the deep value of benefiting from the mentorship of recognized and well-respected industry veterans.
Who- the Candidate:
There is only one work experience requirement for this role- at least 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience in the Canadian operation of a fast-paced recruitment agency. Beyond that, it’s all about the soft skills, communication style, personality attributes, EQ, business savvy, ambition, and potential. Professional, clear, and diplomatic communication skills (verbal and written) are paramount, given the high-profile clientele the search firm works with. Most important is an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and ongoing professional development- we are looking for recruiters who keep on top of trends in the market, who listen to the relevant podcasts, read the relevant books, go to the interesting networking events. A successful recruiter in this role will be someone who is a collaborative team player and who is competitive with themselves (“I want to beat my last month, my last quarter, my last year”) but not with their colleagues. Candidates will be confident picking up the phone to speak with anybody and everybody and will be classy brand ambassadors for the firm across the country.
Based in downtown Toronto. After initial training, there is opportunity to work on a hybrid from-office/from-home schedule.
Base salary / monthly draw, plus commissions, health & dental benefits, PD support, annual team-building trip somewhere hot, etc. The firm has a quarterly commission program, with commissions increasing to the next tier once an RC hits $200K in billable production, and then another tier after $300K in production. The realistic aim is for a high-performance Recruitment Consultant to earn $100K in their first full year (draw plus commissions). Doubling that figure in year 2 is achievable for someone highly self-motivated and capable.
