 Responsibilities of the Role: 

  • Implement strategic decisions by providing analysis, advice, and recommendations

  • Develop annual budgets and business plans

  • Provide financial leadership, strategic direction, assessment, and reporting on the fiscal performance, including resource use, expenditure patterns, budgetary targets and KPI’s.

  • Prepare periodic and year-end financial reports and forecasts including a written variance analysis for operational management and Senior Leadership.

  • Demonstrate financial leadership by monitoring, interpreting, and reporting on the fiscal performance of departments and programs

  • Develop and present KPI’s and key business drivers impacting operations.

  • Work closely with operational management to develop operating budgets and monthly forecasts; ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance.

  • Use financial acumen to support strategic decision-making by providing advice and recommendations based on sound financial analysis. Undertake special projects as needed to address program requirements.

  • Play a key role in ensuring the long-term financial viability and credibility of the organization by ensuring the data used in analysis is accurate.

  • As part of the period close process, reviewing completeness and accuracy of information prior to the close of each period.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CA) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a similar field as well as 4+ years of progressive FP&A experience.

  • Recent experience relating to budgeting, business planning, and finance

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for relationship management

  • Strong computer skills (Excel pivot tables and analyzing data) and financial application skills

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to comprehend complex data
