We are seeking an exceptional Legal Assistant with a strong business sense and sense of urgency! This role requires a mature and professional attitude, excellent organizational and communication skills. The incumbent must also have the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, competing priorities and meet strict deadlines under pressure. This role requires a minimum of 2 – 3 years of litigation experience required, ideally derived from a large law firm. Legal Assistant Certificate from an accredited post secondary institution or equivalent work experience. Excellent written and communication skills, attention to detail, systems working knowledge, and proficiency using MS Office 365.
What – the Opportunity:
Reporting to and supporting a team of Lawyers, the Legal Assistant is responsible for handling a wide range of administrative priorities for their assigned portfolio of lawyers. This position will be responsible for calendar management, coordination of meetings, file opening and closings, expense reporting, correspondence, liaising with Billing Coordinators, and providing back up coverage to other team members as well as a range of ad-hoc administrative tasks.
