Who-the Candidate:
We are seeking an exceptional Corporate Services Assistant with a strong business sense and sense of urgency! This is a unique opportunity to join a very progressive and career-oriented organization, so we are looking for like-minded individuals. This role requires a mature and professional attitude, excellent organizational and communication skills. The incumbent must also have the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, competing priorities and meet strict deadlines under pressure. This role requires a minimum of 3 – 5 years of Legal administrative experience, ideally derived from within a large law firm. ALF software experience is a must have.

What – the Opportunity:
Joining the busy Corporate Services department, the Corporate Services Assistant contributes to the efficient day-to-day operations and will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of annual reports and annual consent resolutions for companies and societies (federal and provincial) and maintenance of extra-provincial registrations across Canada

  • Assisting lawyers in the corporate/commercial practice area; including extra-provincial registrations in BC; changes in directors and officers, Business Name Registrations and Changes in Registered and Records Offices

  • Conducting due diligence searches including, without limitation, corporate searches for registrations in BC, across Canada and in the United States

  • Monitoring and responding to email account requests

  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, which includes accepting service documents from process servers

  • Reviewing and updating minute books and completing the required provincial or federal corporate filings and work in a team setting to identify issues and follow up on outstanding matters
