What- the Role:
Swim Recruiting is seeking a new Corporate Controller for this great organization. The new Controller will lead a team ~10 people (Asst Controller, Senior Accountants, etc, mix of direct and indirect reports) and will report directly to the top finance leader. The areas of responsibility are diverse and include internal and external financial reporting for a group of companies, leading accounting, the year-end audit, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial system optimization, identifying and implementing process improvements, and ad hoc projects. This is a “working manager” role where the technical full-cycle corporate accounting & working capital management skills are crucial but just as important are the soft skills and leadership abilities.  SWIM will provide interested and qualified candidates with a detailed job description.

Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a designated accountant with at least 15 years progressive and relevant accounting work experience. Strong candidates will have experience training, coaching, mentoring, and leading a team of at least 5 direct reports, including hiring and performance management. Qualified candidates will be business savvy and able to see the big picture while still managing the details. Experience with a growing mid-size private organization is preferred, as is hands-on experience using an ERP and reporting in complex organizations.   Great role for folks who thrive in a fast-paced, high-change, and entrepreneurial work environment!

Where:
Downtown Vancouver. Hybrid work schedule. More presence required in the HQ in the first months while establishing relationships and getting to know the company. Longer term, the Controller can choose to work from home 2, 3, 4 days a week, or possibly even an entire week working from home, depending on what is going on at the office. There are frequent on-site team collaboration days.

How Much:
Generous base salary commensurate with experience. The total compensation includes a competitive RRSP contribution, a performance-based bonus, PD support, health & dental benefits, and some great industry-based perks.
