What- the Role:
Swim Recruiting is seeking a Senior Accountant for this great organization. The new Sr. Acct. will support the accounting for multiple corporate and personal entities and is responsible for the preparing financial statements and reports, journal entries, AP invoices, tax returns and tax compliance, working papers, as well as assisting with treasury matters. Accuracy and integrity of the data is paramount and must be performed in a confidential manner.

Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant who has relevant work experience and skills, of course, but also has the personality to mesh well with the tight-knit, collaborative, and humble team. Friendly and effective communication skills are key, as is an approachable down-to-earth style. Candidates will ideally have previous experience with a privately-held and multi-entity holding company (can be from client portfolio at public practice). Good technical accounting skills are crucial and up-to-date personal taxation (Canadian tax) knowledge is required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
5 or more years’ relevant and progressive accounting-related work experience
Tax Compliance experience, including preparation of T1s, T2s, T3s, T4s, and T5s. Canadian and US personal income tax experience.
CPA Accounting designation (or legacy CA or CGA) or international equivalent is preferred, otherwise very actively working towards designation (on track for designation in 2023 or 2024)
Experience with treasury and cash management
Experience with multi-entity businesses (public practice clients and/or in-house)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is crucial and prior experience using Profile (or other tax preparation programs) and QuickBooks is an asset.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
This organization is headquartered in a beautiful downtown Vancouver corporate office with amazing views, just a short walk away from a SkyTrain station and plenty of amenities. 4 days in office during onboarding, once fully trained up, the Sr Acct can start to work from home up to 2 days a week.
