Payroll & Benefits Specialist (permanent full-time or part-time) – Mining
We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join a successful, reputable, and well-established mining company headquartered right here in Vancouver, BC.
Who- the Company:
Our client is a diversified Canadian base metals mining company with worldwide operations primarily producing copper, zinc, gold and nickel.
What- the Role:
Reporting to an amazing HR Manager, you will play an integral role in the company’s payroll and benefits functions for corporate employees and expatriates. You will ensure the accurate and timely submission of payroll on a semi-monthly basis. You will have the opportunity to participate in other ad hoc HR projects if you wish.
Please note that our client is open to individuals seeking full-time OR part-time employment (3 days per week).
Key responsibilities include:

Manage the payroll and benefits function for 100+ salaried Canadian employees on a semi-monthly basis.

Payroll administration such as inputting and maintaining electronic personnel records.

Payroll related accounting entries.

Work with external consultants regarding payroll for expatriates.

Administer employee Group Benefit Plan including initial set-up for new hires, employee record maintenance and status change.

Prepare ROE’s, government reports and calculations.

Review existing payroll processes and systems, recommend and document updates and improvements as required.

Participate in other ad hoc HR projects such as compensation administration, assist with completing surveys, identify trends and analyze HR data and/or assist with reports.
Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking an individual who has at least ideally 5 years experience processing full-cycle payroll, including year-end
who is a team player that enjoys taking on a variety of tasks.
The ideal candidate will have:

Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.

Experience with ADP WFN and/or SAP SuccessFactors is an asset.

Strong knowledge of payroll processes and payroll legislation in Canada.

PCP designation or Payroll Compliance Manager certification.

Ability to manage and prioritise task and to work efficiently in an ever changing environment.

Basic understanding of accounting and/or compensation principles is an asset.
How Much:
Excellent base salary commensurate with payroll & benefits experience and skills, bonus, health benefits, health spending account and 3 weeks vacation.
Where:
Our clients corporate office is based out in Vancouver, BC with the opportunity to work 2 days per week from home.
