Tax Manager
Great opportunity for a CPA-designated professional with excellent Canadian tax compliance and tax planning skills to join a very successful, stable, well-managed, and well-established Vancouver-based company in a unique and exciting industry.
Who- the Company:
Our client has an over 40-year history of creating wildly successful products that are sold across North America and beyond. They have values that promote teamwork, trust, and sincerity. The company has approximately 1000 employees and is growing quickly! Multiple entities, operations in many countries, very complex and interesting business.
What- the Role:
Due to continued business growth and new product launches, our client is in need of a great new resource on their tax team. The new Tax Manager (permanent, full-time) will be responsible for the preparation and filing of taxes for all Canadian entities (in BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, etc.). Reporting into the Senior Director of Tax who has been with the company for many years. This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety in their tax portfolio and who is eager to learn new taxation skills with a successful and high-growth company.
The tax team at this company is very organized and well-managed. Because of this, there is not a great deal of overtime expected in this position for someone who is productive and efficient- some at year-end and at Canadian tax filing time, but for the most part the Tax Manager can achieve much better work/life balance in this role than they can in public practice firms or with public companies. Who- the Candidate:
We are looking for a tax professional who is a team player and who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks depending on departmental needs.
- Deep expertise in multi-provincial Canadian taxation is required.
- CPA designation is required. Achievement or pursuit of In-Depth Tax courses is highly preferred but not necessarily required.
- Experience using Tax Prep and proficiency with Excel is required, hands-on experience using an ERP is an asset.
- Qualified candidates for this role will be both hands-on and strategic, and able to keep an eye on the details while keeping in mind the big picture.
- Excellent communication skills and relationship building abilities are important in this role.
- Experience working for a multinational public practice accounting firm is preferred.
