A fantastic, reputable, and empowering NPO (not for profit) organization is seeking a dynamic Grants and Fundraising Coordinator to join their team. This is a fast-paced role that will support the Fund Development team. 

Who- the company:
Our client is a well-known and respected local NPO that has been serving the downtown community for many years. They provide basic need services, programs, and specialized support.

What- the role:
Our client is looking for a Grants and Fundraising Coordinator. This is a full-time, permanent position. This position will be working with the Fund Development Team to carry out the fund development strategy. This employee will ensure fundraising strategies pursue opportunities to support the services, programs, and project work and reflect the mission and statement of principles of the society. This Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Fundraising Committee to lay the groundwork for improved fundraising. Duties listed below:

  • In collaboration with the Fund Development team, develop and implement a fundraising strategy. Develop and implement a corporate donor engagement strategy.

  • Coordinate the Capital Campaign Team including but not limited to communications, timelines and workflows, document creation, reporting to ED and Board, and other deliverables.

  • Support the Fundraising Committees/sub-committees, and on request, participate in Board of Directors meetings to present annual planning and progress reports and to provide information, advice, and guidance related to fundraising.

  • Research, and follows-up with foundations, corporations, and other community groups to identify and evaluate potential funding sources.

  • Research and submit applications for new funding opportunities that are in line with the DEWC strategic plan and program needs, including from foundations, corporations, and other community groups.

  • Manages and maintains all aspects of funding contracts with foundations, corporations, and other community groups including, liaising with program managers, monitoring and/or submitting required reports, preparing contract work plans, and updating contract files. Ensures that contract files and database are kept up to date.

  • Prepares internal and external communication relating to grants and contracts including submissions to the annual report.

  • Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Fund Development team to develop an Operating budget.

  • Review financial statements to ensure funds are expected in accordance with the funding agreements and annual budgets.

  • In collaboration with the management and staff teams, review all programs and services to ensure they meet policy guidelines, funding contracts, and reflect established priorities.

Who- the candidate:
We are looking for a responsible, ethical, and diligent Fundraising professional. Qualifications listed below:

  • 3+ years in NPO fund development including donor engagement, grant writing, and administration.

  • Experience and/or education developing and implementing fund development strategies within NPOs.

  • Must be IT proficient with current and extensive database experience.

  • Knowledge of NPO financial and account operations including budget creation.

  • Efficient organizational skills including record keeping, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrated administrative skills, including report writing.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills and practice.

  • Excellent communication skills required, including the ability to work in a respectful and cooperative manner with donors, coworkers, and centre members.

Where- the location:  
Our client is located in downtown Vancouver. This is a fully in-office position. This will be on a fortnight (reduced schedule). Every other week, this person will work 4 days a week (with Fridays off).
