6 month contract SDET role with a growing team delivering major technology programs to a global retail organization.

What & Why:
As a result of investment in technology our client is looking to add an SDET to their growing team.  You will be focused entirely on automation as the team is also hiring QA testers to execute on the manual test cases.  Your responsibilities will include writing automated tests and focusing on the testability, robustness, and performance of newly implemented and integrated software. You are a test professional with programming skills who can create automation testing tools and frameworks, and add to the ever-growing suite of regression tests, and tests required for promoting from lower to higher environments. You will be setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, such as Web, cloud, front-end, and back-end (integration), and building test scenarios and acceptance tests.

They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have full remote on-boarding capability during Covid19 with a hybrid work model following that, however this role can be fully remote if you would prefer, however you will need to work in PST hours.

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

  • 5+ years of SDET/Automation experience
  • Excellent designing and programming skills.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and process management methodology.
  • The following coding languages are must haves:
    • Java/Spring boot
    • SQL
  • The following technologies are used by the QA Team:
    • Java 11 + Spring
    • Cucumber
    • Kafka
    • Docker
  • The following technologies/practices are strongly preferred:
    • Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • GitHub
    • Jenkins
    • Agile methodology
    • TDD, BDD
