Are you from a construction or engineering background and wanting to pivot your career into Business Analysis and Business Development?   

We are looking for someone ambitious, that has a strong understanding of the business and/or construction process that enjoys sales, business development and analytics. Someone that is detailed, conscientious, that has strong research skills and a desire to learn.

This is a key newly created role to support the analysis of new markets, business opportunities and strategy for this international organization. Ideal is someone that has come from a construction and/or engineering background that has the business acumen to truly understand the industry to identify potential partners and/or customers.

Our client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of niche construction chemical products with a global presence in over 90 countries and expanding their global presence further. They are committed to providing their customers with premium services, leading technical knowledge, and innovative products.  
The company has a substantial market share within its niche sector and will offer significant room for growth and career advancement.

What- the Role: 
This International Business Analyst opportunity will be a key liaison for market analysis, business growth and strategy implementation. This role will support business development is various areas to contribute to the organization’s growth. KPIs include looking at new distributors, customers, leads by territory and leads converted by territory. This is a truly an international role, looking to expand into more geographic areas.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Search for distributors and country representatives – desk research, media advertising.

  • Coordinate and monitor lead generation activities through EDC and Trade Commissions.

  • Undertake direct lead generation activities (eg. tunnel segment, sustainability, key accounts, past company users).

  • Monitor and report on lead generation results (lead conversion – projects, customers).

  • Liaise with distributors on all lead generation activities.

  • Competitor analysis (pricing, volume).

  • Content coordination between distributor, technical services and marketing.

  • Market potential analysis by market segment.

Qualifications include:
Ideal is someone coming from an operational background that will have a strong understanding of the construction process and/or cement industry. A bachelor’s in engineering and some business development experience is ideal but open to profiles and possibly even a newer MBA.

We are looking for someone that is resourceful, willing to learn, hard working and that is detailed with strong research skills and a want to support the exciting growth this company is undertaking.

A strong written communicator is essential to this role as the company is looking for someone with strong business acumen that can represent the company and look for additional partnerships. Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or international Business or bachelor’s degree in engineering with an MBA.

  • 5+ years in relevant sales, construction, engineering or other B2B industrial businesses.

  • Good analytical skills including superior attention to detail and a high degree of professionalism in written communication.

  • We are looking for a self-starter that would be excited by this unique opportunity to contribute to the success of this growing company.   • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity and experience in AS400 would be an asset.

  • Experience in international business is considered an asset.
