What you'll be doing:

Lead a team of highly skilled IT resources, effectively recruiting, coaching, developing and enabling team members to achieve their full potential

Work closely with agile teams to assign and review work, monitor adherence to standards and practices, provide improvement feedback, and ensure successful completion of projects or tasks by the group

Set clear direction and expectations, keeping staff focused on objectives, and fostering a sense of urgency and dedication to meeting goals

Iterate on processes that will enable and empower the team to triage, prioritize, investigate, and solve technical questions and issues with high quality and speed

Develop and implement operational and business policies, standards, systems, processes and best practices

Develop and lead change management initiatives and be a positive change agent to continually improve operations and results

Establish a positive work environment to maintain trust, open communication, creativity and team cohesion
Who:
Our client develops web and mobile applications as well as provides infrastructure hosting and support for a large retail financial network. They have received a number of awards for their software, and continue to develop & implement new features for business clients to grow their member base.
You:
What you'll have:

A university degree in computer science (or equivalent) and 5+ years of relevant experience in a highly available, high performance SAAS environment

5+ years of experience in managing a large or multiple small agile team(s)

Highly developed analytical, problem solving, planning, time management, organizational and change management skills

Demonstrated ability to set and achieve service level targets in a fast paced, dynamic technical environment
-
Ability to establish and continually refine incident and problem management for the platform including root cause analysis and critical outage response capabilities
-
Understanding of ITIL-based processes and, ideally, experience with Service Now
-
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with staff and clients, to both technical and non-technical audiences

Effective client management skills to resolve issues and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs
-
The ability to provide technical leadership and hands on support to prioritize tasks, while working on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines in a team environment

Passion to stay current on the latest technologies and best practices

Experience with agile testing practices and tools with a focus on automation

Experience working with a wide range of technologies and architectures including Linux and Windows hosts, Load balancers, Web hosting, databases, VM and containerized solutions, DevOps solutions including Chef, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, mobile application builds, API integrations (ISO/REST) both on prem and in the Cloud (AWS and Azure).

Good understanding of Information Security principles and tools both for code scanning as well as to protect the production applications

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical resources to develop the best solution
