Fantastic HR leadership opportunity for a business based in beautiful Kelowna, BC. Working closely with others on the senior leadership team and with the company owner/founder. Great role for a natural leader who is adaptable, confident, and self-motivated and who also loves seeking out opportunities to improve and innovate.

How- the Company:
Our client has a beautiful facility in Kelowna with a fantastic product. They are quickly expanding their operations! The company has an entrepreneurial work environment. The business is in a very interesting sector, which they are shaking up with new technologies, systems, and processes.

What- the Role:
Our client is seeking a new Human Resources Director who will report directly into the company’s founder while also working closely with other leaders at the company. This is truly a “building” role, and the HR Director will get to positively and significantly impact the organization’s culture and employment brand.
The HR Director will have one seasoned HR Generalist reporting into them. This is a very holistic HR leadership role encompassing HR strategy, HR policies & programs, HR legal & contracts, compensation & total rewards, talent attraction & retention, performance management, leadership coaching, learning & development, organizational development, and HRIS. The company has 80 to 200 employees, depending on the time of year. The HR Director will be based full-time in Kelowna.
This role will touch on all areas of HR, but a primary focus will be on engagement and culture. SWIM will provide qualified and interested candidates with a more detailed job description.

Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking an entrepreneurial HR leader who has a history of building and scaling. Fit is a critical element for this position as well as the ability to understand the operations, partner meaningfully with the business, and support the various departmental leaders to meet goals and objectives as the company grows.
Qualified candidates will have at least 15 years’ relevant and progressive experience in human resources, including at least a couple of years in senior management capacities. Qualified candidates can have transferable work experience from any number of industries, including tech, software, engineering, manufacturing, retail, etc. Most important is a robust HR toolkit, a positive and inspiring leadership presence, an eye for process improvement, and the ability to see the big picture while working hands-on with their HR Generalist on the day-to-day execution to achieve the company’s people & culture goals. Candidates will enjoy working with HR data and using that data to support business decisions.
Only candidates who are living in Kelowna or who are very serious about fully relocating to Kelowna within a month of job offer will be considered.

Based in beautiful Kelowna in BC’s Okanagan Valley. This is a full-time in-office role. Open to individuals who are serious about relocating.  

How Much:
Fair base salary in line with the finalist’s skills and experience, plus benefits, paid vacation, etc. Please discuss your total compensation expectations with SWIM. Potential relocation assistance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
