A dynamic, reputable, and professional organization is seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Administrator to join their established office team. This is a collaborative role that will manage the payroll and human resources administration for the organization.

Our client is a well-known construction and equipment dealership. They have operations all across Western Canada and sell both new and used inventory. This organization offers a friendly, collaborative, and professional work environment with room for growth.
What- the role:
This is a full-time, permanent Human Resources & Payroll Administration role based in Surrey, BC. This position will be a key contact for employees within the organization, and requires a highly motivated, organized professional. Key duties in this role will include payroll duties, assisting managers in recruitment, benefits, employee wellness and safety. More responsibilities listed below:

Complete (2) bi-weekly payrolls, for a complex non-union payroll

Work with the accounting department with commission related calculations

Assist the management team on recruitment of new employees (e.g. job postings, applications, resume screening, interviews, offer letters, reference checks, criminal record checks (if applicable), onboarding, termination, and leaves)

Assist management in preparing job descriptions for new positions and updating existing job descriptions

Respond to inquiries from employees and managers on a variety of issues regarding policies and procedures, and employment standards

Provide support to Health and Safety, and Employee Social Committees

Work with management team to maintain and update manuals and programs (e.g. Health and Safety Manual, Employee Manual, Benefit program, RRSP program)

Assist in the development and updating of manuals, policies/procedures, and best practices

Maintain related health and safety databases through data input and audits. Keeps all employee electronic and paper records up to date and in compliance with applicable accreditation standards and legal requirements

Assist in the administration of staff training, licensing, and accreditation requirements

Determine eligibility and process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
-
Perform other duties as required (meetings, social events, payroll, document prep, employee programs)

Travel to the branches may be required
Who- the candidate:
We are looking for an adaptable, efficient, and detail-oriented payroll professional. Qualifications listed below:

3-5 years of payroll experience in a complex (non-union) payroll environment

General knowledge of employment laws and practices
-
Experience in recruiting and administration of benefits and other HR programs

Highly organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality and errors

Superior verbal and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills
-
Experience in ADP and/or PayWorks payroll systems

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Skills in database management and record keeping
-
Ability to maintain and exercise a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
Where- the location:
Our client is located in Surrey, BC. This will be a full-time in office role and they have free parking available on site.
