Well-rounded administrative opportunity with a very well-established real estate investment firm with a history going back over 80 years. Very friendly and tightknit team culture. Great opportunity to grow with the firm over the years- employees are treated very well and many people stay with the company a long time.
Who- the Company:
This organization was founded over 80 years ago and today still has a positive reputation and entrepeneurial spirit. The company owns commercial and industrial real estate and is developing waterfront properties around BC. There are 10 people working full time at the corporate office.
What- the Role:
Our client is hiring for a new Administrative Assistant who will report into a wonderful Vice President who has been with the company for several decades. The administrative tasks that the new Assistant will take on are varied and include preparing, proofreading, and finalizing business documents, taking care of business correspondence with a handful of commercial tenants, coordinating business travel, managing physical and digital filing of important business documents, organizing business meetings (in-person, phone, and video, including finalizing and sending out relevant meeting materials), preparing petty cash reports and expense reports, reviewing and approving contractor invoices, etc.
The Administrative Assistant will maintain various Excel-based spreadsheets. In addition to supporting the Vice President, the Administrative Assistant will also help out the President, the Chairman, the CFO, and the Executive Assistant with a variety of ad hoc and routine administrative tasks.
Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a friendly, professional, organized, and detail-oriented individual with at least 2 years of relevant administrative experience in a corporate office environment. Qualified candidates will have excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience using Docusign, Teams, and Zoom is preferred. Clear communication skills (verbal and written) are important in this role. Detail orientation is key as the Administrative Assistant will often be the “last set of eyes” on documents and correspondence before it leaves the office to be used/reviewed by tenants, investors, business partners, bankers, etc. Relevant post-secondary education, perhaps in business or communications, is preferred but not required.
Where:
Located in the bustling Mount Pleasant neighbourhood close to many restaurants, breweries, cafes, shops, and parks. There are two Canada Line Stations nearby, many bus routes run close to the office, and the Science World/Main St. Skytrain station is around a 15-minute walk away.
How Much:
Base salary will be in-line with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and education. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will receive paid vacation, a solid benefits package (extended health, paramedical, dental, vision, life insurance, etc), a 3% RRSP match (after successfully passing probation), and financial support for relevant and approved professional development.
