The Canada Development Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the financial information for multiple large projects. Monthly duties will include preparation of draws and financial statements, initiating wire payments and recording in Oracle, distributing information to partners, and answering queries. The position will be part of a regionally focused accounting team, collaborating to achieve department and company-wide goals. The Accountant must have the ability to work both independently and within a team setting.

They own, operate, and develop rental housing, including traditional multifamily, mixed-use, student and university partnerships, active adult, life sciences, single family, and logistics.
What the role:
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a Development Accountant to support their Canadian real estate operations. The Accountant will be operating under US GAAP and IFRS, overseeing and approving financial transactions, reports, projects, cash management and communicating with internal and external project stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role between corporate accounting and development accounting,.
The Accountant will be supporting and receiving guidance from the Accounting Manager and will essentially be at starting at the ground floor to Canadian operations of a global and highly successful organization.
Who the Candidate:

3+ years of accounting experience in real estate- ideally in development accounting

Pursuing CPA is ideal

Experience in high volume, fast paced environment

Soft skills: Strong communicator, team oriented nature, self-starter, naturally curious and detail oriented.

Experience with a robust ERP system- Oracle is a plus!

Strong Excel skills
Where:
This can be a fully remote role, but candidates need to be living in Greater Vancouver Area and need to be able to commute to their downtown office if needed.
