A successful, reputable, and dynamic firm is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their established office team. This is a fantastic role that will provide career stability and professional growth, all while working with a team of collaborative professionals.

Who- the company:
Our client is a downtown Vancouver law firm with origins dating back to the 1960s. They are a team of diverse talents, capable of providing clients with first-rate service for legal issues.

What- the role:
Our client is seeking a full-time, permanent Accounting Assistant. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager. This is a multi-faceted position that will allow the candidate to grow their accounting skill set. See responsibilities below:

  • Processing disbursements, A/P, accounts, write-offs, and transfers.

  • Processing daily general deposits.

  • Entering and processing of all trust deposits and trust cheques in our accounting system and maintaining trust investments.

  • Updating various excel spreadsheets.

  • Processing monthly reminder statements.

  • Maintaining petty cash.

  • Processing payments of invoices, wired payments, stop payments, and credit card retainers and payments.

  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Accounting Manager as required.

Who- the candidate:
Our client is looking for an organized, diligent, and detail-oriented accounting professional. Qualifications listed below:

  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience in a fast-paced accounting department with experience in trust accounting.

  • Law firm experience and knowledge of the law society rules is an asset.

  • Experience with ESILAW is an asset.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task while responding to changing priorities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while being a team player.

  • A positive attitude with the willingness to learn and grow.

Where- the location:  
Our client is located in downtown Vancouver. This is a full-time, in office role.
